Welcome to CTT! If you have any questions, perhaps we can find you some links and other information to help you enjoy the Freedom.

I have not sailed on Carnival, but I bet you'll have a great time. Will this be your first cruise?  I have heard and read great things about the children's program on Carnival so I bet your kids will have a blast!
What is your itinerary?

I've sailed on Royal Caribbean 5 times, Celebrity 3 times, SeaDream once, NCL once and Carnival once.   My Canival cruise was last October on the Conquest and it was my first cruise as a single, so I was somewhat apprehensive whether I would "fit in" or not, since I'm also older than petrified dirt.

I can honestly say I had the most fun on the Carnival ship than I had on any of the others.   There are activities available 24 hours a day, including the pool bar where you can get fresh pizza, calzones and garlic bread at 4:00 a.m. along with a beer, if you so desire.

There is so much to do and such a good children's program that your children will never be bored, nor will you, yet there is also ample opportunity to find a quiet nook or lounge and just chill with a book, or play board games with the kids.    Almost all cruise lines have programs available where you can leave the children and go off on your own and be assured that the kids are well-taken care of and kept busy with activities.

I was so pleased with Carnival that I have three more cruises booked with them within the next 13 months.

My soon-to-be-ex-wife was a cruise snob and refused to even consider Carnival because she "knew" it was inferior to Celebrity, RCCL. etc.   She was dead wrong.  The service and food on Carnival were very much on par with the other lines.  I think a lot of Carnival's negative reaction was to the situation maybe five or ten years ago where, especially on the two and three-day cruises, they catered to the Spring Break and Party Hearty crowd.   That has changed drastically since the 1990s.

The Freedom is one of Carnival's newest ships and is about the same size as the Conquest and the Liberty.   I found the Conquest to be an ideal size---large enough to have everything you need, but laid out in a way to give you privacy if you want it.

Just my far-from-humble opinion.
:big grin:

Welcome. I haven't been on Freedom yet but I have been on several sister ships & several different classes of Carnival ships. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask. Any of us will be happy to answer if we can.
