Not bad.

If anyone is interested in where we live, check this site. The projected position of the hurricane @ 8AM Tuesday is the exact spot.:(

I just looked to see how far it is from where I live to Port Canaveral - 1068.8 miles!

I think we'll stick to flying. Knowing my luck, I'd somehow end up in Canada :lost:

Now that would be a rough drive. Especially after the cruise when you are tired as sh*t ! Did you check to see if the flights were cheaper?

Actually they are about the same, maybe a little more, but I think that is due to Memorial day.

Yeah, I didn't think about it being a holiday! One of those in our group will be flying in from Newark, NJ. so I guess the holiday prices are going to affect her also.:(

We actually have never left for a storm but are keeping a close eye on this sucker! My #2 son came over last night and got my generator running. I haven't used it since Katrina.:P We were without power for about a week after Katrina and for ten days after Andrew.

Well another week is almost over.  My counter now says 267 days.  Any big plans for the weekend.  I am going to watch the race sunday night and pray we can get back into the Chase!

Well, I can't believe that my second week of classes are almost over.  Atleast on Fridays I only have to be at school for two hours.  Anyways, I had the most unproductive,  boring day of my life.  Although I did get a crap load of homework finished.  No homework over the holiday weekend.

I hope everyone the best with the hurricane coming.  I have been there and done that.  That is one of the reasons why I moved from Florida.  I had a close encounter with Andrew.  Dan I will say that with you coming up to Jersey, you should stop by and see us in NC. You know you want to see me and my booty.  HA HA We would love to see you guys.  We have two extra rooms if you need them.

Anyways, I'm off to bed.  Talk to everyone later.  :sleepy:

How odd, we had a very close encounter with Andrew also. It hit LA. about 20 miles West of us.;)

We will be stopping by your place whenever we head to Jersey. Hopefully it will be during the Thanksgiving holidays. It sucks that we still have to plan around Small-childs school but she's a Sophomore this year so it will not be that much longer.

Dan, hope you are hunkering down for the storm!  Things aren't looking too good for you guys.  I see it is a cat 4 storm now.

Yep, this looks like the worst-case scenario for where we live. We found rooms in Montgomery, Ala. and are headed that way in the morning.

Thanks.  If the house is still here we will be OK. If it's not, our #2 son lives North of us a few miles and he has plenty of room.We are used to being without power and services for a while and have everything we should need. I already know that a lot of people who live South of us will lose everything. I just feel so sorry for them.

Well at least you all are taking the precautions and getting out of dodge.  I hope everything works out for you and your family.  If you guys need anything please call.  Keep us updated on how your doing as you travel to and from.  You can always come North.  We have two extra rooms and my parents have to extra rooms in there house.  Just a thought for you to keep in mind.  I know it would be a haul for you to come up but just know you are apart of our family.  Your always welcome here.  Anyways, I will let you guys get back to your preparations.  Be safe!!

I have been watching the weather channel all day and they have been in Houma.  I think they were talking about a roof blowing off a church youth group building in downtown.  I think it was near a police station.  Glad to see that you are ok.

Hey everyone... Kat just called, I posted on CC but thought I would post here.  Kat and Betty are good, in FL with Kat's mom.  She talked to Dan a bit ago and they were okay... Cliff and Debbie rode out the storm, a lot of wind damage but so far no water damage.  Everyone seems to be okay.

Hope you are all doing okay as well...
