If Brandi changed her group at no extra cost I don't see why we can't do the same. Knowing another group did so should be ammunition for Terry to argue our case with Carnival. From everything I have seen so far, this new guy who took over the helm at Carnival is an idiot!
LMAO !!! Yes, it seems Kathy does get a little excitable" at times. :biteme:

| As I told Jason in the email, I did not want my name referenced in the arguement with Carnival. It took alot of time and persistents to get them to give and I do not want to take the risk of that being revoked. I can see it now, "we can not give everyone a discount so your group will have to pay the extra two hundred per person." I was letting you guys know discreetly that we were able to switch over with no additional cost and gave Jason advice on how about doing so. Basically told him what we told carnival. I understand that you guys are upset and believe me I was beyond pissed! But please do not use my name in reference.....just for the sake of loosing our benifits.....and I hope that all of you can understand that.

No problem Brandi. I'm sure nobody would think of mentioning anyone by name. Just that "other" groups were transferred with no problems. It's all good.
Making any plans for the hurricane yet? I thought we were going to luck out and not have any again this year.

Oh I know Dan......just Jason stated that Terry was going to mention my situation to Carnival....I just don't want to take the chance of anything happening on my end. I doubt they would do so meaning Carnival, but then again its Carnival and look what they did to all of us! SO I am just being cautious. Don't take it the wrong way just understand where I am coming from.
About the hurricane!!! Jeez me too! Thought we were in the clear this year! As of right now...no plans....but we'll see Saturday/Sunday when it hits the Gulf. All I know is there will definitely be a hurricane PArTy!!! :shottime:

Brandi, your name won't be used. I was just letting Dan and Amy know there is still a bit of hope for us. Unlike you, I do not speak with Carnival directly. I have to go through our travel agent. I have to let her put the boxing gloves on for our group. She has a lot more power over than Carnival than we do because she does so much business with them. So you can be assured that your name will not be brought up, but I had to let her know that other groups were being allowed to switch without a cost increase. I have to do everything I can for my group and to keep my TA informed of developments.

| Jason, I completely understand where you are coming from. I would do the same in your position. I just did not want my information public and thats all I was stating. Well I hope everything works out for you guys and Terry can get Carnival to bend.

I can understand. Neaux Fear!
The NHC just projected a turn toward the East so it's looking better for our area even though we all know how forcasts tend to go.

| I sure am glad we don't get hurricanes or tropical storms up in my area. Then again, we get tornados!

We can get both but thankfully have not yet. Although I did survive living through one tornado this year. That was enough for me!!!

At least with Hurricanes, you know when they are coming and can prepare (bend over and kiss your ass goodbye).

It's a little scary, isn't it? When I used to live in CA, all we had to deal with was earthquakes! Last year in KS, an entire town was destroyed by a tornado! Luckily that was about 200 miles from where I live.
In all seriousness, I hope this storm misses everyone.

I had a friend who lived in KS and had the same thing happen a few years ago but I don't remember the name of the town. His family lost everything, Home, business (horses), church, etc. One minute it was all there and the next it was gone.

Well guys, I have some good news to report. We now actually have two options to choose from. Carnival will be honoring our rates for anyone that already has a previous deposit on file with them. So if you have any friends who are in limbo about going, they need to go ahead and make their deposit ASAP before we change our reservation over to the new ship. Anyone who books after the change will have to pay the new price (approximately $200 per person more).
As I said, we now have two options. Option 1 is we can go out on the Glory from Port Canaveral on 5/23. This has the same intinerary as the Valor so no big change here.
Option 2 is to take the Pride out of Miami on 5/23. This has a different itinerary than the Glory. It is
5/23 - Leave Miami 4pm
5/24 - Half Moon Cay, Bahamas 9am-4pm
5/26 - St. Thomas, USVI 8am-6pm
5/27 - San Juan, Puerto Rico 7am-3:30pm
5/28 - Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos 7am-5:30pm
5/30 - Miami 8am
Personally, I prefer to go out on the Glory. I saves me an extra 200 miles of driving plus I love St. Maarten. Either way we are going on 5/23.
Amy and Dan, if you have anyone else interested, tell them to get in touch with Terry before the weekend. I have not had a chance to talk to her yet so I am not sure when she will be transfering our stuff over. Obviously she can't do this until we decide which option.
Also Amy, did you check on your plane tickets to see if they were any cheaper going to Orlando? I checked ours out and they were cheaper than flying to MIA.
Let me know guys, I hope to get a call back from Terry soon

The Glory works for us. Actually my bf and I went on the Pride's itinerary in December, so Glory is a great fit all around. Thanks for the info.
Also, when is the Glory moving to Miami? I thought I heard it was in November 09, but I don't want to book airfare to Orlando and have them change that too!!

| Another question (sorry). Does anyone know if those of us that booked prior to the fuel surcharge going up will now have to pay the extra?

I heard the Glory was moving as well but I believe it is after our cruise.
I think the people booking now will have to pay the extra fuel surcharge cost. But I believe it is only an extra $30.
You should give Terry a call sometime today and make sure. She will know the exact answers to your questions.

Good morning!
It appears that we are all happy with The Glory. Now I hope Carnival doesn't screw that up.
I like the idea of less miles to drive.:biker:

| I believe it is around 560 miles. It usually takes us about 8 hours to get down there.
