Good point. Schooner's Wharf is a lot closer to Mallory square and the docks. Blue Heaven is in Bahama Village, but has a huge outdoor dining area where chickens and cats wander around under the tables. Great atmosphere. The place was a whorehouse when Hemingway lived there. Mango's on Duval is also a great place to have lunch and people watch from their streetside patio.
They also make a great mahi mahi eggs benedict dish. And Irish Kevin's, Sloppy Joe's, Rick's, Hog's Breath Saloon and the Bull and Whistle are good for drinking and live music. And you have to have some conch fritters and a cheeseburger in paradise at Margaritaville.
If you want a really down-home type of Key West Bar from the 1930s or 1940s, try Captain Tony's (the original Sloppy Joe's) or The Green Parrot. The Parrot is mostly locals, since it's on Whitehead Street and is not known that much by tourists.

This by far was my fiance's and my favorite bar! It's were you go when you want to feel like a Conch resident and not just a tourist. We went here everday, usually right after it's early opening around 10 am or so to have our first happy hour drink. We loved the Sunset Ale on tap there and the great, friendly service. It's a good place to people watch and meet locals. It's busy, loud, crazy, and fun. Just how a Key West bar should be! Keep in mind it's a cash only bar (but has an ATM at hand) and remember their motto -- "No sniveling!" This place is an experience not to be missed!

I don't know if they still do it, but at one point the Heminway House gift shop was offering Fantasy Fest t-shirts from previous years. Each year the design of the "official" shirt changes. I've got quite a few of them, starting with 1990.

That's almost a year and a half from now... you could be married and have four kids by then! Maybe these medical "issues" are actually Nature trying to tell you that you're pregnant?
Yeah, right. And monkeys might fly outta my ass...I'm as likely to be pregnant with anyone's spawn as I would be with yours! LMAO I don't think hives, ulcers and strep throat signal pregnancy anyhow.

I was truthfully in fear for your physical health after that whole ordeal. Have you regained your urinary continence?? How about a jugg of apple martinis??
And pregnancy is not what I was thinking anyone "caught" at Carowinds
Yeah...I was worried we were going to get West Nile or something.
Didn't you catch a bird in the grocery store, Allen??

Carowinds is a theme park just outside of Charlotte. They have a campground with cabins. Last July a number of people (Allen, Nicole, my family and me, and others) all met there for a weekend. Brian, the kids and I only made it down on Saturday, but the rest were there from Friday to Sunday.
