Did they actually change it to the Destiny?  I've been gone for several days. . . is this a good thing?

To catch you up - since you have been away - Carnival is moving a lot of it's fleet around. They are moving the Holiday and Celebration to Iberosomething - the cruise line they purchased in Europe somewhere (I think)

How am I doing so far - LOL - notice I am not up on the details.

Anyway - they are moving the Fascination from Miami to Jax. The Imagination is taking over the Fascination itinerary. They are moving the Destiny from SJ to take over the Imagination itinerary. The reason for the Destiny is that they can now boast that they have 4 and 5 night cruises with more balconies than any other cruise line.

The speculation is that the Victory is going to SJ and the Triumph is moving to Mobile. The Liberty is going to be ported in Miami (it appears) and the Freedom in Ft. Lauderdale (and my guess is it will still do Europe for awhile) The Spendor is moving around the horn to the left coast. Supposedly the Pride is coming back East (and I am hoping for a Panama Canal sailing)

The last paragraph is speculation for the most part - but not all of it. I talked with my PVP today - and he confirmed most of it - at least as much as he could.

Was that TMI??

Nope, and thank you for the info!  I'm just highly suspicious now when they start that moving around crap-on last year's cruise they booted us off the Liberty for the Tim McGraw concert tour, and because we had to change, it ended costing us  about double in airfare, and they didn't compensate for it.  I realize that is their perogative, but it is not  very good customer relations, IMHO. . .however, it didn't stop me from coming back-:big grin:

I wouldn't worry too much... they have always been great to our group.  We had to move S&S 2 from New Orleans to Galveston due to Katrina... they gave us all credits, and transferred us automatically.  They switched out the Sensation for the Fantasy on S&S 2.5 and all was good.... and they are supposed to auto switch us to the Destiny, and lock in our prices we paid for the Imagination... so, so far so good, if we can figure out the balcony prices!!

Sounds like a plan!  Don't know that we'll spring for the balcony, though, much as I loved it.  Depends on the prices, I guess.

If not..you still can't beat 2 cruises in an OV for less than 800/pp

I agree, Kelz, and I am SO excited about sailing for 9 days!  I'm afraid it will make all other cruises seem horribly short after that. . .but I will willingly sleep in the broom closet to get on the ship! (Just gimme a pillow, though. . .)
