2 weeks from today we will be heading to NOLA to do our "RESEARCH" for next years pre-cruise activities...LOL

I have no idea where we will be staying. I'll probably drive since I hate to fly and need to find a place that might keep my car for the week.

You might want to check out one of those websites that tells you about hotels near airports (not that you really want to stay near MSY on purpose, but...) that let you leave your car there free while you are gone. I know there used to be hotels in NOLA nearer the French Quarter or the Business District that would do that, but I don't know if they still do. And with the cost of just parking at a hotel over there? That's usually a pretty big sum just for the privilege of being able to leave your car someplace that won't be responsible for it while you are gone! Dan might know about those kinds of things...It's something to look into for sure. Do y'all have any kind of group booking for a hotel or anything, or is everyone just making their own arrangements?
I really would like to consider this one...I would also love to consider S&S4, but you know...we'll have to see...

GWB....this May we stayed at the Holiday Inn - French Quarter for about $99/night...but that incldued a package where you could leave your car at the hotel parking garage for no charge during your stay and the cruise. Parking otherwise is up to $25/day. We'll look for something like that in a few months because I'll be driving too.

If you decide to go...and want to save a few bucks on air and cab fare you are welcome to drive to Tallahassee, leave your car here at my apt, and ride with me to NOLA. I know...that is a lot of road miles for you...and you can prolly fly from Jax to NOLA for less than you can drive to Tallahassee ....but the company you travel with will be much better!

That's a REALLY good rate for the room alone, much less free parking! They practically paid you to stay there depending on how many nights you were able to leave your car...
Did you have to call the hotel to get that package or was it part of a special rate for a group or something? I'd like to try to get into something like that!

It was on their website as a "park&cruise" special.
