May 10-11 is Mother's Day weekend.  I don't know how that might affect some of the people here.

Good points, Rich!!  Mother's Day weekend would be a non-event for me, but I don't know about the others............

Any thoughts/suggestions from you guys?

For the weekend of 5/10-11, prices per person double occupancy (inside/oceanview/balcony), including port charges, but not tax...group prices may be lower:

$599*

$719*

$869*

Carnival Legend 5/11 - Tampa, FL ; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands ; Cozumel, Mexico ; Belize ; Costa Maya, Mexico ; Tampa, FL

$619*

$729*

$849*

If we are voting on a CCL cruise now, just so some can put deposits for an aft cabin, and if  we want to go the weekend of May 10/11 and  if we are voting on the above 2 cruises........

I would vote for the one out of Tampa,  because we would not have a 90 min-2 hour bus ride to the port from the airport, like you will in Houston/Galveston.

At the risk of sounding like Mr T, how many of us are seriously considering this cruise?   (just wondering if we will qualify for a group rate)

Obviously, since it is over a year away.....things may happen and plans could change. But as of now, how many of us are planning on going on a May 08 western caribbean cruise?

Well lots can happen in a year, I have no cruises planned yet for next year so we are very interested in going. I wish it was sooner then May but...(why did you pick May?)

I would not mind Tampa or Port Canaveral as we can drive there easy. Also doesnt matter to us if we go out on a Sat or Sun. Lets just go already!

Hey PE, did you tell Jerry? Do you think he will go?

(Till we see what NCL has, I like this one)

I agree with that...especially if we cruise Sunday to Sunday..then can recoup on Monday plus nobody flys on Sunday over Mem Day weekend!

I would definately prefer the 17th/18th departure

What about this one, since it's a Sunday departure?  It still goes to Belize.

Carnival Legend 5/18/08:

Tampa, FL ; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands ; Cozumel, Mexico ; Belize ; Costa Maya, Mexico ; Tampa, FL

$699*

$809*

$929*

Doesnt matter to me! So have we at least picked a date? Are we looking at leaving the 10th/11th or the 17th/18th weekend?

Memorial Day weekend 2008 is May 24-25-26, I think.  If we went the week of May 17/18, that would put us traveling back in the airports on Mem Day weekend.
I might rather go the weekend of May 10/11.  Deb, can you go that weekend?

Does anyone have a preference on a Sat or Sun departure?  I would prefer a Sunday departure, for the same reason as the Crown/Dawn FUBAR. (my DH doesn't get off work Friday till usually around 7pm....we cannot get a flight out of Raleigh that late Friday night). I usually like to fly down the night before.
But, if everyone votes on a Sat departure, we would just have to catch the first flight out on Sat. morning and hope we don't get delayed.........

The 10th-11th probably wouldn't work for me, but don't let that stop you from choosing the date. I'm the one least likely to actually get to go in May. DH is not being cooperative! :flamin:

That's a good question. I think I was talking to Mike about an Alaska cruise in 08, but he was going in the summer.....is that right, Mike?

My husband is planning on going to "part-time" at work that summer (July). We will be starting to move our stuff down to our Florida house that summer & fall, so we won't be able to go on any trips during that summer and fall. I figured if we went in May, it would be before  we were moving.
Is May still OK with everyone?
