You gotta stop using the word "ass" around Dawson!  He is from the Bay area!

Carnival has opened up some options for May, 2008.  Prices listed are lead prices for individual bookings for inside, oceanview, & balcony, and do not include taxes (but do include port charges).  Group pricing would normally be lower, but at least here are some ideas:

Carnival Glory 5/17/08: Port Canaveral (Orlando), FL ; Cozumel, Mexico ; Belize ; Costa Maya, Mexico ; Nassau, Bahamas ; Port Canaveral (Orlando), FL
$539*

$669*

$839*

Carnival Conquest 5/18/08: Galveston, TX ; Montego Bay, Jamaica ; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands ; Cozumel, Mexico ; Galveston, TX
$679*

$799*

$949*

Carnival Legend 5/18/08: Tampa, FL ; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands ; Cozumel, Mexico ; Belize ; Costa Maya, Mexico ; Tampa, FL
$699*

$809*

$929*

Thanks, Rich!!!!!!  I'm glad the 5/08 pricing is starting to come in.  I've never sailed on CCL, so I am not familiar with their ships. Any of the ones you posted new? Large, but not mega?

Conquest from Galveston might be cool...I need to research the Conquest though...plus Tx is kinda halfway between most of us...you fly into Houston if I'm not mistaken ...is that right?

Rich..is this a 7 day cruise???

The ships are all 4-5 years old.  Conquest & Glory are sister ships (110,000 tons), and are similar to the Liberty & Valor.  Legend is similar to the Spirit.  They're all nice ships.

All of the cruises I listed are 7 days.  You would fly into Houston.

It's about 1 1/4-1 1/2hours from IAH, and about 45 minutes from Hobby.  Traffic shouldn't be that bad on the weekend.

All of this class on Carnival ships were their attempt to improve their "Party Harty" reputation.  Most of the peope I have talked with belive they succeded.  They got rid of a lot of the Chrome and Neon decorations and also replaced a LOT of the "Home Interiors" crap and settled into a relatively classy cruise ship motif.

Yes, the Spirit & Conquest ships are less of the party ship atmosphere, but still a great time.  It's a lot different cruise line than it was back in the 90's.

That's interesting......that sounds like a Carnival ship I may be interested in.........I have never sailed on CCL.

I think the majority of the votes are for a cruise.  Since it's so early, I think we should keep the land-resort as a 2nd choice.
What do you guys think?  Or, do you just want to declare the cruise the winner and blow off the resort?

But, before we go with CCL, I want to see the dates, ships & itineraries for RCCL.  Of course, we could decide on a CCL ship and put down a deposit just so those who want it "in the aft" can get it!!!!!!!  Then, if we decide on another ship, you'll get your deposit back!

That sounds like a pretty good plan.....I'm down with reserving an aft!!
