| So now that we are discussing this on 2 different threads and some of us are only on one of them..I propose we continue the debate/vote/anarchy on this thread...just to update those who were not monitoring the "other" thread...the proposed itenerary has now included an all inclusive in the Mayan Riviera area with a day trip to invade PB with milk theft left to your discretion!

I was just thinking if we took a day trip to Cozumel....it would involve a long bus ride to Cancun, then a ferry boat ride over to Cozumel, then a taxi ride to PB!
Is xcaret closer to Cancun than Costa Maya?

Everything's closer than Costa Maya. If you stayed in the Riviera Maya area, there's a ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel. There are lots of nice all-inclusives in that area right around there.

We have been looking at it for the spring. The only thing that sucks is the restuarant on the water that blocks your view from the beach! Notice on the website the middle pic on the left. Im sure it makes for a great dinning experience but im not sure its worth blocking the view!
Its also not adults only so there could be some kids around!

I think Costa Maya's at least 1 1/2 hours away from Playa. The Occidental that Bama mentioned is a good option in that area. Sandos Playacar is another one we've had good luck with.
