We parasailed 10 years ago on our honeymoon.  The strange thing is I'm not

afraid of heights, but I HATED parasailing because once my feet left the boat.. uh,

water, uh, ground???  I felt really upset the higher we kept going.

come to think of it, that happened to me in the one and only hot-air balloon

ride....  Really, I'm not afraid of heights.  I guess if I'd just relaxed a little

more I would have enjoyed the exhilarating feeling of airborne-ness:lmao1:

glad you got all your airline stuff squared away -- that must be a big relief.

Airfares are aborrhent this year.  I'm trying to decide whether to purchase

our tickets to Hawaii now for ourSeptember trip or do the usual wait and see

thing until June, but who knows what will happen with prices.

I am afraid of heights but since my choices are either to try parasailing or to do one of the rip cord tours I think this is the shorter of 2 evils!

I am sure that the price of gas doesn't help the air fares but I have alerts on Kayak.com for  fort lauderdale and it has gone up $67 in the last 2-3 days. Seems like alot. I did notice that the price of gas around here has shot back up by about $0.20 a gallon. Are you going to Hawaii to catch a cruise? I would like to cruise the hawaiian islands and Fiji. Maybe in a few years will try that one. I am so glad that our flight down and back to Florida has only 1 stop. Less chance of lost luggage!

We're going on a land-based trip to Maui.  We never cruise the islands -- we just

like to plunk ourselves at one place and beach it for a week or two.  We've been

10 times to most of the islands.

that's outrageous how the fares have increase so much in 2 - 3 days.  Wow.

I read an article in our local paper yesterday speaking to that fact, of increases

beginning in '08, but I checked for tickets to Maui and those fares haven't increased.

In fact, they've gone down for May, but it all comes down to supply and demand,

I guess.

We have been to all of the islands except Kauai (sp?). We just love Maui. Went there almost 30 years ago for our honeymoon! Have taken the kids back a few times and neverr get tired of it.! Did a great submarine ride off of Maui as well as took a helicopter ride. That was great even if I don't care for heights.

I am so looking forward to this cruise and just having some R&R. Really don't even care if we have any tours booked, we will just wing it and what will be will be! 89 days till we launch!
