Ugh. My ob/gyn put me on a regimen of BCP for a few months. I'll spare you the details, don't want to burn any ears here! ;)

She gave me a sample pack; bless her heart, who wants to pay for them when you're already "fixed"? I need to take them with me when we cruise, obviously. Being as they are a sample pack, they don't have the Rx label on them.

Will I be able to put these in my carry on since they aren't labeled with my name and whatnot? Or should I put them in my checked luggage and pray they don't get lost?

Hmmm... very good question.  Since there's a very real chance your checked bags might get lost, I'd take them in my carry-on. But then, if you get a really zealot TSA agent, they might take them for not having your name on them.
Is there any way you can call your Dr office and get them to write a note for you saying that is your medication, but it's a trial dose?

I never take mine in the original package but it's usually pretty simple to tell what they are because of the inside packaging. In fact for my pill the original RX label is on the pouch and not the case and that goes in the shredder.

I've flown many times with no problems.

I have three prescription meds in my purse and one non-prescripton aspirin type. TSA never even opened my purse either coming or going. I'd think you'd be safer keeping them in your carryon.

Thanks for the replies!

I honestly was befuddled about this issue. I'll place them in my purse and hopefully this won't present a problem. If I start to get paranoid (gee...not me! ;)) I'll have my doc write up a note to bring along before we go.

Never ever ever ever ever ever ever pack any medications in your checked luggage.  Carry it with you always.  I have no idea what BSA is, but if it's not a controlled substance (i.e., narcotic analgesic, tranquilizer, etc.) it should not be a problem if they happen to search your carry on and see the container.  If it is a controlled substance, you'd do well to have some kind of a note from the Doctor...especially if your sailing outside of the country.

On our recent 15 nighter we brought all of our meds in the original containers with the official RX stickers.  The biggest pain about this?  Well...looking at all the bottles reinforced to DH and I that we're getting older.  Cripes I remember when we'd go on vacation and I'd take one small bottle of Tylenol.  Those days are long gone for sure!

Ciao,

WaWW

I hear ya, sister!!!!!! :lmao1:   I am in the same situation.  Now I travel with a gallon zip-lock baggie stuffed with all my medication (in their orginal bottles with my name on it), plus all my vitamins.  Talk about feeling like an old fart.....:shoot me:
