 I got my air tickets today... and
I get a "snack" on a 7.5 hour flight????
At least we get breakfast on the 8.7 hour stretch. What's with that??
Please God, let this be a typo.... this old dame needs to eat,
I need something to do for all this time.:drugs:

Food products
Solid food products, such as chocolate, sandwich, fruits, vegetables are permitted in your baggage. All liquid food such as yogurts, pudding and jam are submitted to the restriction of 100 ml (3.4 oz) container and fit in your 1L plastic bag. If you plan to bring any kitchen utensils with your food products, please ensure to pack your knife in checked baggage.
thank god... I'd starve. Will enjoy eating that 3.4 oz container of runny yogurt with my fingers. But will be glad of the sustanence onboard. I read the first class meal service........ maybe that's the $3000. difference in the fares WOW they eat like kings.......

What airline is this??? I know they've cut down but this is just ridiculous.
Why don't they just continue to serve everyone, up the ticket price by $20 or something of offset the food cost and none of us would be any wiser.

I guess I should go for the negative advertising factor. I'll hump on plastic grocery bags filled with munchies, sandwiches, fruit, maybe a steaming whole chicken will get the message across............ I can't believe they are not going to serve us a meal....
we get breakfast.... a breakfast loaf, yogurt and juice.
Maybe I should throw a few boiled eggs in the bag and then peel them at 0100. PHEW.....
Coming home, we get a snack (pizza). I HATE PIZZA!!!! (probably the only person on the planet that hates the stuff)
I better phone the TA.... and be prepared. Amy, can you send a few crates of sweets to AirCrapola in Toronto, tell them to save them for my June flight.
I suppose I'll have seen the movies playing too, or have they done away with that??
Just dropped in another 2GB into my Mp3, so will work at stealing more songs this wknd. At least I'll have some good music as I start to faint from hunger pains, and a low glucose level

| Why can't airlines offer pre-packaged sandwiches and chips for additional price? Really, would it be that difficult? Most already serve alcoholic drinks for a fee so why not a cheap but overpriced sandwich?

| At least you'll be able to take something on to eat. That's crazy thinking people can last on a flight that long on a snack. And I'll tell you something else. I don't like pizza either! Sometimes I give in to the majority and eat it, but I really have to be hungry and order it special to be able to stomach it.

Pizza is actually a good brain food for kids for breakfast prior to school, if they won't eat anything else.......... I hate the stuff. The men in this family love it. But they've never had real pizza!
I have no idea what it is, I just hate it, and I am a HUGE lover of Italian food.
I think you can buy snacks on the planes, arent' they all $5.00?? That seems to be the magic number for everything onboard.
I'm gonna load up the carry on. Must keep it light. Licorice, chocolate bars, chips, tacos, nibs, buns, salami, garlic dip, you know ,the usual...... PPPPpppppeeeeewwww

That really is unbelievable for an international flight!!
British Air had two meals, plus snacks available in the galley areas that you could go and get. Also, they gave you free wine with your dinner or lunch.
EasyJet was hysterically funny going from BCN to Stanstead! They sell EVERYTHING!! I told DH that I was surprised I didn't have to pay to use the potty. Sold you food, souvenirs, drinks, etc. Soda and water, at least, were free with the little pretzels.
I've started taking a bag of mixed nuts on all my trips. I never know between airplanes and buses when I'm going to eat. At least some nuts will keep me going until the next stop.

Every time I see the title of this thread, I just burst out laughing!!!! And every time I see Air Canada, I think of Sheila!!!!!!!
One thing that air tubulence like this very dramatically points out is the need to have children buckled up in a child seat, NOT sitting on a parent's lap!!! THe child can become a missile and the results can be deadly.
I have no idea why the airlines do not require all babies/toddlers to be in a car seat, and not in a lap. I know people want to save money, but a car seat could save your babies life.
It seems to be a no-brainer.

Read this on AOL earlier. Sounds like they couldn't find an altitude without turbulence. That must have been one scary ride!

Unrestrained children also pose a hazard to other passengers - when a 20 lb child is thrown through the cabin in an accident, he would have a force of 1000 lbs (at only 50 mph, much more at higher speeds) when striking another person or object. Third, parents who are able to hold on to their children in a sudden stop or collision will very likely end up using that child as a "human air bag". Children have actually been "crushed to death" by the parent on whose lap they were sitting.

must be a slow news day, cause I 'm really sick of hearing this incident over and over and over..... they're now saying that it was a combination of weather fronts, that caused them not to be able to find a non turbulent area and the computers put the plane back onto manual... ya sure, more like the pilot was getting a little something in the "cockpit" and his knee hit the manual switch.
Havent' those Aircrapola pilots heard of Viagara?? It would help keep it up.

Imagine sitting in the seat on the next flight where a nudist sat. Surely they have to sit on something so as not to leave germs on there for the next unknowing, fully clad passenger.
