We are working on updating our chat room. Due to some issues that have been brought to our attention, we need to go over our chat room policy:
The chat room belongs to ALL members. It can be used at anytime by anyone. Because this is a public chat room, whatever is said in chat is seen by all members present in the room. If you want to discuss private matters, please use the private chat option or send PM's on the board.
Please be courteous to everyone in the chat room. Sometimes new members check out the chat room feature and want to get aquainted with their fellow members. Please do not make them feel as if they are not welcome to be there or to feel uncomfortable.
Some of our members have informed us that they have felt uncomfortable in chat when someone they do not recognize enters chat but does not participate. For the time being, we are asking all of our members to sign in with their screen name or their first name. We are not asking this to track you or your usage of the chat room. We are asking this so all of our members will feel comfortable.
If at any time you feel there is a problem with a member in the chat room, please contact an administrator or a moderator. We will look into the matter as soon as possible.
Some of the features we are looking at in our new chat room are individual rooms and members only sign-in. But still be mindful the chat room will still be available to all members at all times.

Sounds reasonable to me! I agree that it only makes sense for everyone to use their screen name---just so everyone will know who is there!

| I am guilty of using different names in the chat room but all in the spirit of fun. But because it has made some uncomfortable in certain situations, we are asking for to use your names or screen names until we get our new chatroom loaded. No Big Brother going on.....just a temporary fix to the situation.

While we are working on an improved chat room....this is what I have to deal with...5 women are helping me. The new and improved chat room has one window....have you ever tried to get 5 women to agree on curtains for one window? It ain't fun...

Okay, is there anybody out there who doesn't know me? I don't go in as Deb anymore since we have several Debs. I just use my screen name. Most names, unless you use your first name, can be checked against the members list.
We're working on something which should solve the problems of having unknowns and non-members in the chatroom. Until then, if you have questions about someone, please, notify one of the staff ASAP.
