Bless your heart, it was a Buffalo Springfield song. 
It's called "For What It's Worth"..... it's confusing, because I don't think the title is found in the lyrics.....
I think what also threw you off, to be fair, was that the song was written by Stephen Stills, and Buffalo Springfield also included Neil Young in addition to Stephen Stills.

If we have a need (and we do) to check persons logged into chat against the CTT membership list - then the only way to do that is by official CTT screen name.
