Kyle was a menace six years ago to shipping lanes and I'll be damned if he's doing it again!

I went out on the Majesty thru Hanna 2 weeks ago out of Philly and it was not too bad. Tell her to get there early as they check you in on board the ship and that was a mess for some. It was not for us as we got there around 10:30 and got right on.

Getting there early won't be a challenge for her; waiting until they'll let her on will be the challenge! :lmao1:

Wow! Was that fast or have I just missed the weather reports? How is this going to affect your trip RnE?

It won't affect our trip at all.   This is a very right sided storm moving fast into cooler water.   It should be back to a TS by evening and hopefully won't cause our friends in the NE too much trouble.

We may get a couple of showers from it, but that's it.   Last night they were saying that Cape Cod may get 25-40 MPH winds and some rain, but nothing major, and they'll get the worst.  Just another rain storm.

Have a great trip, RnE!

Thanks Rich, and for all the advice you gve me earlier.

We'll leave very early Tuesday morning and with stops, be in NH sometime on Friday.   Looks like it's cooling down  over your way.   The first four days we are there, they're calling for a high of 50 to 52.

Looks like you're timing the foliage about right this year.  We're starting to get some nice color in spots around here, so further up, it should be real nice by next weekend.

Sounds good.   The reports I've been reading say the peak should be there while we are there.   With a week in NH, then a couple of days in Philly, then another day or two in PA, we'll then come home via WV and KY, so we should have good foliage all the way.   We'll get home on the 14th or 15th with our peak shortly after that.   I believe we'll get our share of color this year.   With the timely rains all summer and the temps we have had for the last month, we should have one of the better years for color here.   We don't have the maple trees except in town though.   Mainly oak and hickory.

Thanks everyone.   I believe I'm looking forward to this more than any trip in a long time.   It's some place I've wanted to see for years but just put it off.

I don't even care that we're going from the 70's to the low 50's.   We packed the sweats and sweaters as well as the hot chocolate.   I bet we find some cider up there.

After this trip, the only states I haven't visited will be Oregon, Idaho, North Dakota, and Michigan.   I'm sure I'll work them in as we've been all over the Far East and Europe, as well as almost every port in the Caribbean, many several times.   It's time to revisit the Lower 48 as it just has so much to offer.   Although I do plan to go to the Canadian Rockies late next summer.

Are you still going to go to Philly, or did we scare you away:shock:

The Canadian Rockies are phenomenal, one of the best trips that I have taken.

:brightidea:  One more thing.  Don't forget to let us know when you get home.  We don't need half of CTT searching obits again to see if RnE became R&E.

I have a friend who is Hawaii right now because her 90 year old aunt needed a travel companion.  Her aunt has been to every state except Hawaii so she is getting that one off her list.  I think that's pretty cool.

I hear Portland Oregon is nice.  You could swing through there on your way to your next Alaskan cruise?

Yes, going to Philly.

Yes, I will check in on return.

My wife now has a sister across the bay from Seattle so we're talking about going up there and we'll do Idaho and Oregon when we go as well as going over in Canada and having the time to do it right.

Michigan will be no problem but so far I haven't found a damn thing to make me want to go to North Dakota.   Somebody help me out here.   Maybe we'll just do the Black Hills again and make a side trip up there.

RnE, I've been to North Dakota, but darned if I can remember what we did or saw since we've been to most of the lower 48. Anyhooooo, here's a link if you decide to go up that way:
