Tropical Storm Ike has formed in the Atlantic. By this weekend, it is expected to be a hurricane and getting near the Turks and Bahamas.

Wow, I hope that we are not going to get to alpha and beta like a few years ago. This is really going to impact more cruises.
I am glad that I got off a ship on 8-21.

Apparently, I don't know how to put the map here where it will update. So if one of you who does know how will do so, please do.

With all the grief Hanna is going to cause up the east coast, Ike may be the big one. Ike will most likely be a hurricane before this day is out as winds are now 70 and this thing is well formed. With the high pressure ridge forming over the Atlantic, Ike could very well be a major hurricane by the time it reaches the Bahamas on Monday.
Very possible that southern Florida and then the Gulf is its target.
Keep your best eye on Hanna this week, but don't ignore this guy.

Bring back an old quiz. Not only did I remember them all, I remember record players and 78’s that was before hi-fi’s and 45’s. I also remember the ice man delivering ice for the ice box, coal stoves for heating, wood and kerosene stoves for cooking, and trekking to the outhouse in winter, as well as baths in a number 3 wash tub.
Allen may remember when my mother was born.

Ike is now a Cat 3!! FREAKING A he grew fast  Now THIS one, I'm a little more concerned about... go away Ike, Hanna, Josephine, Gustav... sounds like a freaking band from the 70's...
