There is some flooding in areas (especially around Fayetteville), but not too bad in most areas - some trees/wires down, but doesn't look like any widespread damage. I've got a live video feed up from WRAL, figuring it'll give me a good idea of places we don't want to move to.

| Our news here is showing some localized flooding in the Raleigh area. They are really getting slammed with the rain and have all night.

If ya'll hear of any flooding on I-95 or Hwy 70, let me know! I'm just worried about the interstate being closed, or something........

Denise, WRAL also has a blog with a couple of reports from Goldsboro. One of a dead tree down near the hospital and another of someone's metal canopy damaging a neighbor's fence.

Looks like the coastal area is already clearing off. You should certainly be fine by tomorrow...have a save trip!

| All I've heard reported so far is that 17 is closed down near Georgetown.

Denise, things are getting better. We lost power for a while due to a tree falling, but they got it back on quick... if the winds keep up, it might not be the last time but they are restoring power pretty quick. They just opened a shelter in Raleigh, there is alot of flooding around town. Crabtree Creek is likely to cause a lot of trouble, it's already 13 feet above level and has overflowed the banks... so we're keeping an eye on that. The rain should be moving out of here soon, and they said the winds should die down by the afternoon, so all should be great for you... I think the main concern right now is rising waters and weak trees... I know they've closed portions of 95 up in VA... but haven't really paid attention to other roads. I'll let you know if I hear anything! Hope you guys don't have any damage!!!
Hope everyone in her path is staying safe and dry!!! Hope she blows out of there soon!!

Yes, it is.
For me it really puts into perspective the 10 inches we got from Fay. No wonder we had all that flooding.
Stay safe Chris. Let me know if you need anything.

That it does... we only got 3-4 inches from Fay... Dad was in Charlotte for Fay, and the reason he is back there this weekend was because their buidling was flooded and they got nothing done... so thankfully they didn't get anything this weekend to keep them from doing the conversion... that would have SUCKED! LOL!
Thanks Steph... i'm going to make it a blockbuster day... seems like a good day for it!

Denise, things are much better at least in Raleigh now... there is still some flooding and concerns about Crabtree Creek, the Neuse and Tar... so I'll keep you posted, and I know there were some road closings in Goldsboro, but those will hopefully be a non-issue by tomorrow. Rain has moved out, winds have died down and the sun is coming out!!!
You guys stay safe up north!!!!

Yes, you Yanks stay safe.........Hannah was good to us here in Florida. Hope she doesn't do much damage up there.
Chris, a friend of mine went over to our house and said the yard is a disaster area, but nothing worse than a few big branches and tons of pine cones & pine straw!!!!
One of the HUGE pine trees fell in our asshole neighbors yard!!! One of his huge pine trees fell in our yard last year and caved in the roof of our brick storage building....

Denise, more drama They have put us BACK under a flash flood warning until tomorrow... I am guessing the roads you guys travel should be fine... but I'm not sure if your house is anywhere near any of the rivers in Gboro... Just give yourself extra time, there may be some detours and additional traffic..

Sorry to hear about all the havoc from Hanna south of us. We're in N.E. PA and already getting heavy rain, with a roof leak to prove it. *sigh*. If we get a similar amount of rain, our cellar will be flooded for sure. Such fun!
Hope everyone is safe and dry!
