Hanna now has winds of 80 and because it has strenghtened so fast today, they are thinking this may become a Cat 2 before landfall.
Keep your eye on this Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. If this gets to Cat 2 and the track near the coast and landfall projections, this storm may cause more damage than Gustav.

Ike is next weeks hurricane of the week. Stay tuned for Josephine. She may already be a wave off of Africa.

hanna's projected path has changed. earlier today it was on a nw course. (i was thinking about maria getting her flight from ky on sun, b/c it was headed that way).
now, she's going due north once she hits the states. and georgia looks like the impact point now instead of the earlier projected carolina coast.

and yes. be careful nipper!!!
We've got the generator ready, 2 jugs of water left over from TS Fay and a good supply of cat food! We're ready!!!!!!
I hope she gains speed and gets on by us by Friday, so we can still drive up on Sunday.
If not, DH will have to fly commercial whatever day he can get into Raleigh and I will stay here with the cats!!!!!
Denise - You have a generator?? I'm coming to your house then - not the other way around Jax/St. Aug is usually pretty darned lucky with these east coast storms. They usually travel up the gulf stream and stay at least 50 - 100 miles off our coast. At least so far - so I am optomistically thinking Hanna will pass us by.
But I'm with Steph and stocking up again just in case. Since Hanna, Ike, and Potential Josephine are out there. Local weather reports are saying Hanna will be close by on Thursday.

You should have no problem driving up Sunday. The forecast here as the remains of Hanna north of NYC on Saturday.

Hanna has been downgraded to a tropical storm, although sometime tomorrow should be a hurricane again.
By Sunday, it should be in Maine...shouldn't be a problem driving from FL to NC, Denise. Looks like we could be in for a wet weekend in NE.Last edited on Tue Sep 2nd, 2008 04:09 pm by nhrich

Looks like I am going to go thru it no matter what Leaving Sat. for Bermuda. Thought that we may go North, but she will be there too

| It may be well enough inland so that it doesn't affect you too badly, other than maybe getting to the pier.

Ya think ? Getting to the pier will be no problem, Phl Pier is only about 30 min away.
Took a quick TA rate just to get away from stress........I hope this does not add to it We could get one getting back too

| Saturday night's race in Richmond might be a little damp too....it should be past by then, but there could still be issues.

Yep!!!!!! We'll have electricity as long as the house isn't underwater! We're right on Matanzas Bay and if Hannah goes by at high tide, we may be in trouble!

That's what we are hoping for. We'll closely watch tomorrow and try to make a decision.

The five o'clock map today shows the eye right over Richmond at two Saturday afternoon.

| They've changed the track and timing on Hanna this morning. EVERYONE on the whole east coast better keep an eye on it now. Saying after landfall, it will turn and go up the entire coast as a tropical storm.

The latest has it just about going right over us around 2 AM Sunday morning, still as a tropical storm.
Guess I should think about taking the gazebo down from the porch in a couple of days.

| Damn, guess it's time for me to start paying attention to this beeyotch. They keep tracking this thing further east... grr. It will probably change 10 more times... but I'm hoping she just disappears and blows out to sea...
