Wow, that built in a hurry.   It was just a low to keep an eye on yesterday.

He looks like a hound dog sniffing out Fay's trail.   And we all know what Fay was.

That didn't take long.   Hurricane with winds of 85 this early morning.

Early track very similiar to Fay but may head into the Gulf.   This one bears watching as it could be a biggie.

The recent runs don't look nice.  CAT3++ in the Gulf.  This should make for a nice ride in today's market. (USO)

The reroutings have already begun:

Mariner of the Seas, which departed Port Canaveral, Sunday, August 24, will sail a revised itinerary. The ship will not be visiting Labadee, Haiti, on Tuesday; Ocho Rios, Jamaica, on Wednesday; George Town, Cayman Islands, on Thursday; or Cozumel, Mexico, on Friday. Instead, the ship will spend Tuesday at sea; visit St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, on Wednesday; and Philipsburg, St. Maarten, on Thursday. The ship will be at sea Friday and Saturday as it returns to Port Canaveral, Sunday, August 31, as scheduled.

Close, but it's more like "I paid for four specific ports, and I only got two different ones - none of the ones I paid for.  I expect a 100% refund and a free cruise next year during hurricane season that goes to the ports that I paid for."

When are these idiots going to learn. You book during hurricane season and anything can happen. They should be glad to be out of harm's way but nooooooo. :eyeroll:

:help:   What's even worse is the report I heard on the radio that there could be 3 more named storms by next week in the Caribbean.  It sounds like it may get really nasty down there.

Since we do have a cruise scheduled during hurricane season (9/21 from NYC to Canada/New England), what would be likely to happen if a storm headed up the east coast?  I've heard of ships getting diverted to Canada, but what happens if the storm is IN Canada / New England?

That could be very tricky. Bermuda maybe?

I'll be watching this storm with interest. Please keep the updates coming!
