Actaully, it's been quiet here most of the day.........however, it's just about an hour south of us around Daytona Beach now and we're starting to get the heavy rain bands and the winds are picking up.
They say it may dump over 12" of rain tonight and tomorrow!

No, not over yet.   Winds are up to 60 this morning.   Although still listed as stationary, it is starting to move slowly at 2 mph to the NW.    Hopefully, within the next few hours, it will pick up some movement and head west

It's a rain event for the most part.  THAT is the biggest news maker as they are measuring rain by the foot now.

Checking in this morning..........no rain right now, but really windy. TS Fay is listed as stationary and "sticking like glue" to the coastline at Dayonta Beach. So, we here in St. Augustine & Jacksonville are getting hit with the rain bands on the NE portion of the storm.

I see on the Weather Channel that Mike Seidel is here at St. Augustine Beach!  Uh, oh......
They are saying now that the worst of the rain/wind will be delayed another 10-12 hours.

Hey Denise! Glad to see you still have power. There is some outage here at the creek - but I'm still good. It went off once about 7am - but came right back on - whew!!

I may have to drive to Atlanta tomorrow so I can catch my flight Saturday morning. LOL - They keep saying when the "high pressure" picks this thing up it will get moving - the operative word being "when".....:flamin:

The wind here is getting really bad----------we have a HUGE oak tree in our front yard I am keeping an eye on, plus several cedar tree's (which are notoriously fragile in high winds) that are hanging over the house..............

THe Hummer won't fit in the garage, so it's standing out lonely in the driveway.........hope it doesn't get crushed by a falling tree.........:(

Well if it does at least you can get a vehicle that fits in the garage or maybe it will fit afterwards :roflmao:

Stay safe.

Now THAT is funny....:lmao1: Sorry Denise - I just needed a laugh. This is getting so old....some of the strongest bands are over me now. According to the eye wall you should be getting a break. They say it isn't moving but based on the doppler - it looks to me like it IS moving - North

The other option would be if a tree took down the garage, then you could get a garage big enough for the Hummer.

The best option, of course, would be for Fay to get the heck out of Dodge.

An update of sorts from Kathy. The IMd me a bit ago and was going to shut her computer and everything down. Her power was fading in and out.

She's got my cell number so hopefully she'll call and update me later.

This is a test, only a test of the emergency broadcast system .......

What are you going to do it there is a real hurricane and not a baby like Fay

I know jump in that Hummer and get out of Dodge :outtahere:

K just emailed me from her Blackberry. Power is out. Doesn't look like it will come on anytime soon and they are getting lots of wind and rain.

The problem is that Fay is taking her own sweet time to get the hell out. She is basically stationary and thus keeps dumping copious amounts of rain on us and the wind is screaming like a banshee!   If she'd get her ass in gear and get the hell out, things would start getting better!

Mike Siedell form the Weather Channel is down at St. Augustine Beach (just a few miles down the road from me) and the beach erosion will be bad when Fay finally leaves.  And there are still some surfers out there!

We had high tide around noon.  The water is coming over the seawall and came up about 15' into our yard..........but thank the Lord it did stop just a few feet shy of  getting into our guest cottage.  We took some photo's....will try to download them and post them later.

I'm back for now - this is no near as bad as Frances - but bad enough. I do believe the center is getting close to me so I may have a respite from the wind and rain. Trees down everywhere - one crushed 3 cars, one crushed a car with a lady in it (she is at the hospital but expected to survive). Two teens were in the water at Atlantic Beach  The girl got in trouble - her BF tried to save her - someone called 911 and they pulled them out - but she didn't make it. So very sad they were so dang stupid. There are surfers out there and the cops can't get them to stay outa the water. :shoot me:

Denise - glad to see you are posting!! I can't believe all the dumb azzes on the roads. They are telling everyone to stay home - idiots.

The eye is just touching shore down at Flagler Beach.   It is starting to move more to the west.

New update.   It is moving on shore at Flagler Beach.   Moving west at 5 mph.   Winds 60 with gusts to 70.

Fay has a lot more rain out at sea that will be coming in behind it.
