Out of season statement from NHS today!

There is a disturbance ENE of PR!

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIADSAAT+shtml/092158.shtml?

This may have an impact on ships in the area.  While sea surface temperatures in the region are warm enough for tropical and/or subtropical development, what develops should not be much of a threat.  Possibly up to 50mph winds...named storm category...but nothing major.  This one bears watching as always.

It isn't every season that this kind of weather develops in December although I do remember it happening not too long ago. Usually December is free of any major storms. Yes, it definitely will bear watching.

Olga is born!

It's a subtropical system by definition, nonetheless there's going to be some disappointed Dawn pax.

I'm sitting here in the cold and this storm is going down in the Caribbean. I'd almost rather be there!

We've just come back from NCL Jewel (yesterday) and got caught up in Olga.

We had bad weather on shore and heavy winds/high seas at night whilst sailing.

I didn't realise about the devastation in Santo Domingo though.  How terrible.

I should write a review but I am a bit short of time until the new year (I know it's just an excuse :big grin:).

It was great - we had a wonderful time. Our 2nd time on the Jewel and we love her. We met one man from Florida who moaned and complained about EVERYTHING for 30 minutes (we couldn't get away) but it was almost like we were not on the same ship!

Our 1st time in an Aft Penthouse and now we're spoiled!
