We've had rain, possibly freezing rain earlier in the day. Now it's just damp, dreary and very windy. Gusts around 45 mph, temp at 56 on the first day of December.

Bright & sunny for the past 4 days here in eastern NC, with the high temps around 60.
Very, very nice fall weather. I like it!

It looks like Christmas in Utah!  Starting about midnight last night, until about 2 this afternoon, we had snow.  My house, which is not located in the mountains at all, has about 6 inches of snow.

It's beautiful here too -- if you like 7 inches of snow in the yard, a big pine tree with branches that are bending down far enough that I hope they don't break, and a temperature of 23 (F) degrees with a feel like temp of 10 :big grin:.

I really, really like looking out at it -- I just don't want to have to GO outside.

This is how it works in Buffalo:

They tell us to expect a horrible storm.  They talk about it for days. People stock up on food and kids get excited that school might be closed.  Then we wait...and then a few flakes...then nothing.  The radar will show that the storm missed us or fizzled out.  The weathermen never talk about their failed predictions.

Then...one day it will be sunny with clear blue skies.  With no warning at all it will begin to snow like crazy and we will find ourselves buried under 7 feet of snow or 3 inches of ice.

I no longer worry about the storms they warn us about, it's the unannounced ones that kick out butts here.

. . . and you're very glad you don't have to drive in that stuff anymore! :big grin:

We hit the freezing mark in the last few minutes. Temps have been slightly over or under that all day. A bit of wind so the wind chill is 27. No snow. Any freezing rain we might have had yesterday melted. Partly sunny, but the sun will be going down in about an hour so it'll get below freezing before long.

I like a good snow, but I'm with those who would rather look at it than be out in it! ;)

Just looked at Dave's original link as it keeps updating. Some of you are in for quite a bit more weather!

greater than 6 inches, probably 8 then the freezn pellets started, now driving freezing rain for past few hours with no relief in sight. tons of salt stuff but we've run out now, and it's coming down so fast, we can't keep up with the ice.

We need a blockbuster storm this season...

Snow measured by the yardstick.  Temps falling through the teens and single digits.  Winds gusting to hurricane force.  For seven days.  Drifts covering the traffic lights!

Now THAT would be a storm!

We may get some strong breeze tomorrow.  PFFFT!

Cold here today, especially because of the wind.  About 6-8 inches on the ground, with more expected tomorrow.  Looks like it's here to stay. . .

About 3" or so on the ground right now, and we're expecting another 2-4".  Not too bad, but a reminder of what's around the corner.

Of course, then there's all the idiots that forget how to drive in the winter, even though they've been doing it every year for 30 years.  :shoot me:

Sheila my niece called from Vancouver yesterday.  :big grin:She's got 13 inches in her driveway!!!  They never get much snow where she is.  OMG are they crying right now!

We had a steady downpour of rain yesterday but absolutely no white stuff on the ground.

Exactly!!:lmao1:

Be careful driving tomorrow.  The escarpment area is never fun to drive through in the snow.
