I wish we could get out and work in our yard. Either the weather hasn't cooperated or we've been too busy with other things. It can't wait much longer! :holymoly:

Today was really the first day I could even start to think of it.

When hubby left town the other day he remarked that as soon as he got out of our immediate area everything was in bloom. But still not a single bud on a tree in our neighborhood. Maybe it has something to do with living on a Superfund site?:lmao1:

We lucked out as the last rain was not as bad as predicted.   This one is just moving in and looks much healthier.   They are calling for two or more inches through tomorrow.

The Corp has put out the word that Table Rock can only hold four more feet before they have to open up and let it out at the same rate it comes in.   Everyone along Taneycomo has been warned to be prepared to move out at a moments notice.

Anyone know where I can find pontoons for a riding lawn mower? I figured out how to put a rudder on the steering and have rigged paddle wheels for propulsion, but I still need the pontoons so I can mow the grass.

3 1/2 inches in the last 12 hours.   Lots of flooding.   All of the lakes are at records high level in their 50 years of existance.

About one hour ago the Corp opened all ten flood gates on Table Rock Lake one foot.   About now they will open them another six inches.   Water is rising on Lake Taneycomo and will quickly rise about four feet.    A number of homes and businesses in Branso, Hollister, Rockaway Beach, and the Forsythe area are now in water with more to be in the water shortly.

Shelters have been opened aand it looks like most were warned to get out in time.   No one is quite sure how long this will last as all of the lakes have never been this full before.   They have to keep the gates open until the lakes start going down from new runoff.

RnE, I really feel for the folks on Taneycomo. Having spent many a pleasant hour on that lake, I know how many homes and businesses will be affected by the rising waters.

The rain has stopped here for the time being and we're getting blue sky with white, puffy clouds. Temp is 68. We're under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 tonight so there could be some redevelopment.

Most of our snow finally melted, and now we are supposed to get blizzard like conditions just north of here.  Right now it is "Thunder snowing." :wtf:  Only in the 30's again.  Will spring never come here?

The storms passed by but I shut down my computer to be safe. It was 68 today with the rain. Now it's 55 and they're talking about possible snow showers by morning. Weird!

That low is big and wound tight.   Heavy winds.   Yesterdaywe were on the warm side, 78, and today the cold side, 50.   The wind is still howling and we're suppose to have a hard freeze the next two nights.   Back in the 70's by mid week.

Here's another photo of the lake showing how high the water is behind the dam.   The landing is open for business but the riverwalk and fire and water show are under water.

Here's a photo of the Landing.   What looks like pilings are the big pipes the fire shoots out of during the show.

The boat dock in the middle of this photo is sup[pose to be at that little platform near the railroad bridge on the left.   It is Scotty's Boat Dock, a long time fixture in town.   It broke loose and is dragging eight 4000 pound concrete anchors.   They have been trying to secrure it as they are not sure of what damage it may cause the arched bridge it will hit if it keep going.   BTW, my house is hidden by trees in the very upper left corner of the photo.

Things look pretty bad along the lake! What road is that that crosses the bridge? I'm trying to get oriented to places that I know down there.

That's business 65 and hwy 76.   Downtown Branson is on the left and Hollister on the right.   Between the bridge and the railroad bridge is the one city campground that is left and it's under water.   Branson Landing is the other side of the arched bridge.

Just keep yourself safe Cindy! Is it normal to have this kind of weather at this time of year in your area?

We've been in the 40s most of the day. Gloomy and some sprinkles. BUT lots of things are blooming so warmer weather is (hopefully) just around the corner.

46 here this morning.   It's not suppose to get much warmer the next two days with a chance of a freeze the next three nights.   I hope it doesn't get below 26 and I lose all the peaches again this year.   By mid week is suppose to be in the 70's again.

I looked out and the tulips are closed tight.   I think they are freezing their stamen's off.:big grin:
