RnE, glad you're okay and back online! We didn't get much rain, but we got very bad winds. All kinds of things were getting blown down around here. You could really feel it out on the streets and highways too. Next chance of significant rain is Wednesday.

Thanks.   I spoke too soon about no tornadoes.   Reports of several just to our west and to our north.    Straight line winds were said to be around 75 mph.

It is easier to say that between now and next Tuesday, we are NOT suppose to have rain today and Saturday.   The rest are "How high's the water, Mamma?"

DAMMIT! Tornado warning! We're huddled in a closet on the first floor. Dogs think this is a weird family activity...

We came up about 15 minutes ago. Sounded like it was spawning up just over us as they issued the warning for Lake Telemark, which is about 2 miles east-northeast of here. And to think we were just last night watching a program about the April 4, 1974 tornadoes... I lived along the Ohio River then, and it was one daggone scary time. Then there was the one in N. Va. several years ago that went right over our house, touching down about 400 yards away. :holymoly: Doggy and I were huddled in the basement then. Hubby's never experienced a tornado, so he doesn't quite understand why I get so wound up.

40 miles to our north in Springfield, they only had 5/100 of an inch overnight but it rained hard all night down here.   When it breaks, I'll go check the rain gauge.   Spotty showers now but it's suppose to get heavy again and rain through tomorrow.   They are saying another five inches or more.

I've never minded when rain drops are falling on my head, but when they start creeping up my ass, it's another story.:flamin:

We're now in the middle of one of those kid piddlin, toad stranglin, gully washers.   Street lights are on as it looks like night out there.

WOW, back on line.   Mother Nature is :monkey:at us.   She just put on on hell of a show.   Between the lightening and power surges, I believe it set off every security alarm in town which set all the dogs to howling and barking, which in turn set our cat off attacking any movement.

All I need now to complete this wonderful afternoon is to have my wife remember something I did wrong back in 1967 or so.:roflmao:

Doing fine.   The rain finally moved out during the night after another couple of inches.   It's still cloudy and will stay in the 50's today so kind of dreary.

Tomorrow is back to the upper 60's but I'm having trouble with one of their symbols.   Where they normally have a cloud with rain drops, tomorrow shows a big round yellow ball.   I'm not sure what that is all about but will try to report on this tomorrow.

Things could get very interesting around here this week.   Table Rock Lake, the one above Branson, has been rising at the rate of one to two feet a day and can only go a few feet higher.   The reason it is rising is Beaver Lake, above it, is already at full flood capacity and must release any water running into it.   Heavy rain is forecasts for tonight and tomorrow with a chance Wednesday and more heavy on Thursday.

When the new fancy Branson Landing was built, they raised it to federal guidelines but not the extra five feet the Corp of Engineers told them they should.   The Corp has been releasing water from Table Rock but only 10 % of what they are capable of per day.   They have notified the Landing that if they have to open the other gates due to this rain, they will give the Landing one hour to get everyone out   In other words, the Landing may have a couple of feet of water running through it.

Sounds like they should have listened to the Corps of Engineers!

Our best chance of heavy rain comes after midnight tonight.

We're under a flood watch. The leading edge of the first storm is just a few miles southwest of us. The ground is already saturated from earlier this week so there will be a lot of runoff. Gonna be a rocky 36 hours around here!

Yikes! Sorry to hear about that, Deb.

We had a pretty nice day so I got out and got our patio ready for the season. Darling Doggy decided he'd help hunt down a resident mole and dug a nice long trench along the patio while I was otherwise occupied. :flamin:  Hubby's been gone for a few days, and will leave again Friday, so it's a good time for me to get some Spring Cleaning done. Re-mulch, fill holes in back yard & re-seed (thanks to Doggie Dearest), get some bedding plants, clean out the garage, etc.
