We're on high ground and in good shape here but I'm sure the scanner will be hopping today and tomorrow as this is suppose to keep raining hard for the next 24 hours.

I haven't heard any "actual" flood reports here yet... although we got 3" yesterday and it's supposed to rain all day today too.  The warnings are all in place, so it's just a matter of time now.  :shoot me:

Let me know when you start building that Ark!  :big grin:

I don't know about an Ark, but if the creeks keep rising the cruise lines may start looking at Branson as a port.:tropics:

Looks like we'll be having snow for awhile in MN.

We had our Feb cruise to southern Caribbean, and still not happy.:tropics:

Just a mostly gloomy day here. If it's any consolation, yesterday's rains left my yard a sopping mess. Sorry to hear that you're going to have to replace a few things thanks to the storm. I just hope the flooding doesn't affect you, Amy or jc. Stay safe!

This link will take you to the MO DOT travel map.   Notice the whole bottom half of the state can't be seen due to flooded road symbols.   We've had over 10 inches of rain in this area.   Welcome to Lake Missouri.

Wow!  I hope you're keeping warm and dry.  It's absolutely amazing to think of that much water over that large an area.

We did the drive from Kansas City to St. Louis a few years ago, and there was water off the side of the road in several places then as they'd also had a bunch of rain -- but nothing resulting in road closures.  We'll be praying that everyone in the affected areas will be kept safe.

I don't know what is worse, freezing you kahunas off all winter under five feet of snow, or having to deal with all that mess. Usually up here, it is a slow thaw and we get very little flooding - but it has been known to happen when we get rain and the temp goes from freezing to 50 or 60 in a day.

That is just odd how the water doesn't cross state lines.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes.   We're doing fine.   We're on high enough ground that even if Table Rock Dam would break, the worst that  we would see is to be lake front property for a few hours until it drained.   The rain moved out yesterday, the sun came out and it got into the 60's.   Upper 60's with sun the next couple of days.

Even I-44 went under water yesterday creating a MAJOR traffic problem on this vital link with so many other roads closed.   The creeks have started going down and the rivers should peak tomorrow with many records broken.

Pete, AB makes Bud beer with rice.   Much of that is grown in the SE Delta part of the state.   That's why we are not sharing this water with our neighbors.   Of course, right now, we could grow rice in the Ozarks.:big grin:

Sorry to hear about all the flooding RnE.  Weather news in Missouri even made it to Montreal!  Our officials are worried about Spring flooding here, due to the extremely high volume of snow we received this winter and the fact that most of it is still here.  Once the weather starts to warm up enough to start melting, it's not going to be pretty for those that live near the water....

Schools are closed again today.  This is unbelievable!  4 DAYS this winter.  It could be unprecedented....  with the exception of the ice storm of 1998 where we had no power for a week (almost anywhere on the island of Montreal), I really don't remember the schools ever closing this often in one season.

They problem today is not another storm but roofs collapsing all over the province due to the weight of the snow.  At least 4 people have been killed in the past week because of this worry.  There is so much snow build up on the roofs which was further burdened by the heavy rain we received yesterday so the school board decided to keep the kids home while bringing contractors to clean off the roofs.  This is happening in Shopping malls, businesses, etc.  Kinda scary....

I mean the sun more than the actual sunrise.  Although this is a pic taken from my family's house at Well's Beach.

60 this morning, heading for 70.   After a little cooler weekend (It always rains on Easter), we should see low to mid 60's most of next week.

Spring is a sprunin'.

I feel for you Dave. Seems like we had snow at least once a week, EVERY week this winter. 58 and sunny here. Sorry!

Finally, no snow or rain today.  It was blissfully sunny but COLD!!! On the bright side, that snow bank in my avatar is about a foot smaller from the rain yesterday. :shoot me:

On a brighter side, I saw grass today!!!!!!  It was only a small patch maybe 4" by 6" and it was that baby poop color of brown but I still feel encouraged.  It was land, real land:big grin:  hooray!  This frozen tundra is starting to thaw!

Maybe I should have posted this on the Friday night lose thread:sucks:

This is the Long Creek bridge over Table Rock Lake.   This bridge is normally about 25 feet above the lake.   Beaver Lake, above this lake, has to release water so this level will go up another foot or two.

My neighbor is snowblowing his driveway this morning.  My neighbor boy on the other side did mine last night.

I suppose some of this will end up in Branson later when the melting starts.
