Any sewers onboard?? I haven't made children's clothes in 30 years. Of course I'm lining up the patterns now, but what is with the sizing??
Toddlers 1/2 1 2 3 & 4
How can I gauge what size she will be next summer? (yes, it will take me that long to get back into the swing of things)
What size would a normal 12 month old wear??

The way they're sizing clothes these days, probably a 12-18 month size. Sooo what is that? A 1T or 2T? Crazy!
BTW, I only sewed long enough to pass Home Ec., then I took up cross stitching.

The only way you can really tell is to check the tags on clothes in the store in the 12-18 month size and see what the height and weight are on them. 1T and 2T are in a different cat for kids clothes, actually larger. If you are planning to make something that hangs from the shoulders like a sundress, they are the easiest at that age as they are growing fast. Have fun!!

| All dresses with matching pants or bloomers. I guess if I go for a toddler 2, I can throw it in the dryer to shrink it or toss it out...... I'm sure the first one will need the garbage can, but for $2 or $3 that's ok.

| Good luck Sheila! Maybe you can take pictures when you're done. Anything I'd make would look very strange. I simply don't have the talent to make clothes.

| Used to make my girls outfits for summer a lot, but the only sewing I do these days is Cross-stitch! Cost so darned much these days-used to be much cheaper to sew. . .
