It can be crazy - considering how many people fly in and out of LAS each day. As a frequent traveler it is one of my favorite airports!!

When you land it is a piece of cake - luggage takes a little bit - but there are slot machines everywhere tp keep you occupied if you so desire!!:big grin:

Get to the airport at least 2 hours before take-off. Security lines are long but move pretty fast. Once through security there are more slot machines, smoking rooms, restaurants, and shopping everywhere. I have won some $$ waiting for my plane to take off - believe it or not. :big grin:

I remember that 20 years ago, I didn't do too great while in Vegas, but won $120 in the machines at the airport while waiting for our flight to leave!  I think they are a little looser to get you psyched up!

Welcome Kruizer! :big grin:

I heard that the Las Vegas Airport is a nightmare.  True?

It never stood out for me as being one of the bad ones and like everyone else says there's lots to amuse yourself with while you wait.:smiley1:

Airport in Vegas is always busy.  Make sure you give yourselves at least the 2 hours that are suggested.  I was lucky and did not need to wait in the really long lines, as I had my mom and her wheelchair.  They have a separate line for handicapped and for those families with strollers.  But there were a number of people who missed their flight, as they were not at the gate on time.  Seats were given to standby customers after calling last call about 3 times.  I was also lucky enough to get a free upgrade to business class.

Vegas was great as always, and yes, Cindy we did leave the casino...how else do you get to another one???  Actually we checked out Fremont Street.  We did not go to the strip at all.

If anyone goes downtown, you have to stop and see the painter outside of 4 Queens.  He is amazing.  He paints the most incredible paintings with spray paint!  We went outside to watch him a few times.

I'll be in Vegas Sept 8-11 for my bday. I haven't been there in about 8 years....cruising got in the way.....so I'm really looking forward to seeing all the new places.

The 1 million dollar display is always fun to see at Binion's Horseshoe, if it's still there.  Used to take a free pic with you standing by the money.

I'm sure I will have lots to report when I return. :big grin:

Having to stay with the clowns & kids Sat night at Circus Circus since two of my friends canceled for Sat night.  :flamin: No way I'm gonna pay $300 for a room I will probably be two hours at the most. Kat, Mom & sister will be arriving on Sunday morning & we are all staying at Monte Carlo then.

I can't wait to get back there. After all the beautiful places I have cruised to.....Vegas is still my favorite place in the world.

That's kind of sad.  I wonder if any of the original hotels are left!  The last time I was in Vegas (In the 1980's) we stayed at the Castaways, which is no longer there.  It was across from the Sands on the strip.

No date has been set yet for the implosion, sure it will be soon. Sahara is probably the next logical choice to go.

You'd think they'd want to preserve some of the older, historic places. . .

Sorry but can't say I'm sad to see it go. I only went there once in my past trips. Found it to be very dark, dull & unexciting. Give me glitz & glitter......like Vegas is supposed to be.

On my other visits, there was always a strike of some kind going on. We always chose to honor the workers & refused to cross their picket line.

Seeing who the new owners will be....it won't be on my list to visit in the future.

I will try to leave some $$ for you but I am not making any promises.....:big grin:

We always hit the 4 Queens on the last night - for some reason that night is always a winner at the 4Q...LOL.

Gotta tell ya a story - I was in Evansville, IN on Wednesday night - so I decided to head to the boat for an hour or so - spent about $50 and was ready to call it a night when the $1 Wheel of Fortune caught my eye. I inserted a $20 and on my first spin I got the Wheel - won $40 - so I thought I would play down to $40 and quit. At $43 I hit the 5X red 7's for $600!! Kept playing a few more spins and hit another $50. Cashed out.  Waled in with $100 - walked out with $675. :drink:

It was a good night. Now I am primed for Foxwoods - which will take place three weeks before Vegas. I am hoping my luck holds.........:martini:

We did not get to the lobby, so I am not sure about that, but the pool is incredible.  If you like water slides, they have a really cool one that actually goes right through the middle of the shark/fish tank that is in the middle of the pool.
