| Good morning! Well as many of you have noticed, we have switched hosts. This SHOULD eliminate a great deal of problems we have been having. This has been phase 1. The next phase will be the board conversion to the new software, that will be the facelift and the addition of some new features. That SHOULD happen over the weekend, once we know for sure we will let you know, but plan for the board to be down for one day during the weekend, we just want to get things in place for everyone so you can enjoy your new home next week. Hopefully phase 1 will allow everyone to at least get on the site. Everything else is going to be fun!!

If you need anyone to help test out the new stuff this weekend before it goes live, let me know. I should be around and will be glad to help in any way I can.

Also, there may be some people that can't access the new site right away. Specifically those in other countries and those on AOL. It can take up to 2 days for the entire world be be able to access the board because the DNS will not refresh for everyone at the same time. Most everyone here in the states should be able to access the site now, at the latest, Saturday.

I didn't even have the option of checking at work because I've gone back to school, so I quit my job.

Jo, I'm glad you are finally able to get on.
There may be a few glitches over the next day or two, but all in all, it should be much faster and the members that couldn't get on at all will be able to get on. We really appreciate your patience with this, it was something that was not anticipated, and sadly, something that the old host wasn't on top of. We feel very confident that most of the issues will be resolved by the end of the weekend.
Some of the features of the new board are:
Users can delete all of the private messages in any folder they choose.
A convenient "check all" box selects the entire column on the page being viewed.
Small spinning animation to alert members of unread private messages.
There is now a "Saved Box" in the private message area.
"Quick Reply" feature that disappears when logged out
User can create their own custom title that replaces their group title over the avatar in posts.
User group color selection made easy! Just click in the colored cell and you can select one of 216 pre defined colors. Don't see a color you like? Enter the hex code manually!
"Check All" tick box in every area that has multiple boxes to check for users and admins.
"Breadcrumb" links at top and bottom in all needed areas.
Editing a post takes you back to the post instead of the beginning of the thread.
Posts are now numbered.... ordinally!
Long overdue Forum Jumper!!!! Jump to forums or categories, follows all applicable permissions
User signature shows in their profile instead of the BB code.
Sub forums now display last post in right column if there are posts newer than in the parent forum.
And more
There will be additions that come out as time goes on.

This thread doesn't seem to have been noticed by a lot af people who have been emailing each other asking questions that are answered here and can not get on to read it even if they had noticed the thread.
Maybe a notice can be emailed out like the weekly newsletter used to.
Might "minimize' the number of questions and bitching...hehehehe
(we all know that will never be eliminated)

Hey hey Denise!!!!!! How are ya?????
I got the email about the change of hosts. When I couldn't log on, I figured there was some kind of server issue.
I know you've got a cruise booked. What ya got planned? A girlfriend, her mom and I are probably booking one for next March. It's on NCL and called Cayamo. It's kind of a music-lover's cruise. Several singer-songwriters will perform on it. I'm very excited!!!
