|
Due to the problems many of us have had accessing the board, the Admins have decided to move to a new host board. This is already in process and should happen sometime in the next two weeks. No information will be lost, but the board will be down for at least a day while this is transferred.
We have all been frustrated with the situation but are encouraged by what we know about the new host. Please bear with us. We thank you for your patience. We look forward to seeing you all back on a better and more reliable CTT!

Down for at least a day? Good grief, how will we get our fix? We're all going to need free cruises for therapy.
Seriously, though, I know how frustrating this has been for the members, and especially for the mods. Thank you for all of the hard work that you do.
Will our PM boxes remain intact also?

It is our understanding that everything, including PMs, will remain intact. However, we suggest that you make copies of anything important should there be a glitch in the transfer.

| There is a chance we will only be down for a few hours, but we will plan for the day just in case. We will do a mailing list to let everyone know when we are going down, and when we are back up. We really appreciate everyone's patience over the past few months. We have been just as frustrated as all of you. We feel the company we are switching to will be more responsive, which is the most important part of all this. It's difficult to have 100% up time, and we understand that, but ignoring the problem isn't the answer. We have high hopes that this new host will provide the uptime plus communication.

| Another thing. We are not only changing hosts, but we are changing the software. This new software is based off the WOW platform, but has additional features built in. The boards will look different until we can create a new theme. So there will be changes but we feel these changes will be for the better. We ask for your patience during the next few weeks, as things may look and act differently, but in the end, we will have a better functioning board.

Thank you for letting us know, and thank you for the fix! I'm not sure if I'm able to get on at home right now - this morning, for the first time, I was locked out - Don't know if it was temporary or not, and I'm not back "home" until Friday (in Detroit until then).
Anyway, I'm sure this will be welcome news for those, like Mike, who have been locked out for a while.
Please do send us that email, and get it back as soon as possible - we all need the fix daily, and a whole day off will be heck!

So do I get a free cruise for my frustration? I'll have to go an entire day w/o venting 
This all of a sudden reminds me of another place....not that they are ANYTHING alike but just had one of those memories creep back into my head. (probably the only people that will relate to what i'm talking about are the "dirty dozen" LMAO.)

Me too. Even my computer IT guys, DH and DS, can't get the home computer to access CTT, even though I never had problems with it at home before the last couple of weeks. Very frustrating. So glad to hear CTT is finding us a better host. Good job!!

Yes, indeed it was.........and I was pretty pissed off at those jerks from CF for a long, long time for handling things so poorly. 
But, everything happens for a reason. And even though it was a rough time, we came through it stronger and ended up here at CTT! :rockon:
And you know how it must piss them off to see us doing so well here....after they told us "don't let the door hit you on the way out"...... and "go start your own board"!
