I booked a couple of my upcoming cruises with this company. I just found that they are going bankrupt.

I called the cruise line and they said my booking are all fine since I paid in full awhile ago.

I have heard this company may still be taking bookings. So be careful.

Wow.  Thanks for the heads up.

I LOVE looking on their website.  I like the matrix style of their search results.  But have never used them to actually book a cruise.

Same here. I thought they had the best sight for checking prices and available cabins. They always beat the competition with onboard credit to boot.

This Monday they closed their doors on the employees and that was it. Game over!

This is a good reason to make sure your payments are going directly to the cruise line, and not into the TA's account for later forwarding to the cruise line. Never know when the TA may up and shut down one day. Glad to hear you're in the clear, Dawn.

Thanks for posting this! I hope no one we know gets caught in icruises problems.

If you are always beating the competition and giving on board credit there is a slim chance that you could stay in business. I am sure someone is going to get burned.

They were a good sized agency.  I hope that none of their former customers were victimized, but somehow I suspect that's not going to be the case.

Their website does appear to still be up and running.  Does anyone know for sure that they have closed (bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean they're closing - Chap. 11 is a restructuring), or is this just based on rumors (not doubting the posters here, just wondering the information source)?

My back to back cruise is coming up the end of June and I had questions for my "TA" at icruise. I called and left a message. She got back to me days later (which was odd right there, usually it is minutes, or hours, the most.) She told me what had happened. I can only go by what this agent is telling me. It did frighten (more like panic) me since I have many cruises booked through them right now.

She said the word "bankrupt". I really don't know anymore than what she told me.

Thanks Dawn...seems like a pretty reliable source.  In a way, I'm a little surprised that she got back to you at all, since I'd think that she wouldn't be getting her messages.

You know how rumors on the internet are.  :big grin:

Trust me, you have got me wondering also now. I have been googling since I last posted. It seems someone posted the info on another website, but that was taken off.  She said it will be final by May 30th 2008, so I guess I will check again. I am sure we will hear something by that time.

Like I said, I don't understand the whole "Bankruptcy" thing, but it sounds like changes will be made to say the least.

She told me, when she got to work they didn't let them in, she called me and another client (that also books many cruises with her) to let us know. It was nice that she did this. I did appreciate that.

I was sweating it out for awhile though.

Ah man....I always used icruise to search for cruises!  Then I take my info to Rich and he handles the rest.  That sucks - I've used their website for years.
