Hello everyone, just wanted to intro myself. Been a member of the "dark side" as you all call it for a few years.  Fianlly found this site after a good google that is.  I'm VoyageVirgin from the CC site and was looking for a less, controlling site, shall we say.  They actually locked out the FAQ for NCL yesterday, and if you want something posted in it you have to request permission and approval from Laura S.  WTF?

Recognize a few names here, guess I should have used by old avatar from there to sign up - but I'm a mindless gal some days.  Happy to see Shoreguy is still posting - always ejoyed his input.   See you around the boards. :bouncy:

Welcome

I think you will find the freedom you are looking for. It has a price. We are treated like adults and asked to act like adults. It seems to be working for those that elect to stay around.

I have been here since the first weeks of the site but for the most part here only as shoreguy since I was banned on the darkside along with perhaps 40 others in July/Aug of last year.

Post away

Hi Jim - Very happy to see you here.  Certainly miss you input on the other side.

I don't know how I can post without the restrictions, but I'm ready to try. :martini:

Seems like a good bunch here.   I see you're heading for the Jade - we did the TA earlier this year 2/29 - you'll love the Courtyard area. So peaceful up there.  Ruth Haggar will probably be happy to see you again.  She still talks about her slide and bump in the bowling alley.  Butlers are Henry & Ramadan - good guys.  Found our old butler "Jay" on the 11th deck, so anyone getting him is going to be very happy. We loved the ship along with most of the crew.  So nice.  But then, you've been on the Pride of Hawaii, if I remember correctly, so the only "new" thing will be the casino, plus all the F2 improvements.  Enjoy your cruise.  If you have time, let me know if they have the Latitudes pins yet.  Still waiting for ours.

Happy sailing

M

Welcome to the adult world of cruise boards! We actually get treated with respect here. I rarely post on the DS anymore, this place is so much more fun AND informative. Great mods too.

Welcome!

Wow! I didn't know that they locked up the FAQ for NCL. Why?

I am on CC too..and this seems a much user friendly site.

I just joined today. :big grin:

I noticed that the RCCL FAQ thread was locked too.  They were probably becoming threads where everything would get posted rather than just FAQ.

Welcome to both of you!

I've been a member of the dark side since 2001. When we started this board a couple of years ago, we were trying to make it something different. Not necessarily a big board, but one with more freedom. ;)

You'll notice we have an off topic section. That's where a lot of us hang out and get to know each other while talking about anything. Feel free to join in anywhere. ;)

As Deb said, we are a smaller board and could use help building up some of our forums!
We don't have has many posters and as much information as the bigger boards, but we are not trying to compete with those mega- boards.
We offer freedom of speech here, & we offer a place to post open & honest reviews.  Our Mods here are not the "Big Brother" type that you see on most big boards.
We do have a feeling of "community" here and we care about our members. We love to meet new folks, so please join in any thread and I think you'll find that we are a friendly and welcoming bunch!

I am kind of lost. Where do I find the information about Ports, Hotels, Excursions...etc.?

This really is a cool board. No...it may not be C.C. but there is no room for two. CC is definitely targeted at those who have cruises planned or booked in the near future.
As far as I can see, this board is a little more "social" and not necessarily for someone who is booked on a cruise in the next month or so. :toocool:

Look here...  http://cruisetraveltalk.com/category2/

This section is not one of our strongest...so if you have anything to add please do so!

We are more "social" and many of us have met others and get together for non-cruise occasions too!  Some that travel for work or personal reasons sometimes meet other CTT members as they travel around.
