Takin a ride to the Mobile Bay area in a couple of weeks, any info on good places to eat, have a few drinks, and a place to stay would be great.

This place is great and right on the Bay!  We ate there about a month ago.

How much do you want to spend on a hotel?

There are tons of bayside bars on Battleship Blvd!

If you get a chance you should tour the ship.

If you stop at Gulf Shores check out Lu Lu's and The Hangout and the Flora-bama!

Sounds like the kinda place I'll like.

Dunno, around $100 I guess. Don't want a shithole, but also don't need the Ritz.

We stayed here at the end of the year field trip.  Close to the Oyster House and the Bay bars.

Are you cruising out of Mobile?

I am about 3.5 hours from Mobile!  If I was closer I'd meet ya for a beer!  :drink:

Make sure you get the Oysters on the half shell, they are the best!

If I remember right they also have Bass on tap!

You will be about 30 miles west of the Flora-Bama.  If you get the chance it is worth the trip if you have never been there.

The Battleship is really cool and worth checking out.

If you are on the Harleys this would be a great trip about 20 minutes from Mobile.

Bama gave you some good tips but just be advised that the Florabama, http://www.florabama.com is on the barrier island on the FL-AL line.  If you go into Mobile via I-10 you will miss it.  It would be a good day trip on a bike though once you get there.

Thanks for all the tips Bama and GG. Hotel was nice, and the food at the Original Oyster house was awesome.

Spent most of the day Saturday at the battleship, very cool. We went to the Flora Bama last weekend. They have a lot more stuff there at battleship park than they had last time I was there. That was a while ago though, lol, I was on my way to deliver a new coach to NKOTB in New Orleans. That's New Kids On the block. LMAO, a while ago huh?

Hey, I was just the delivery driver. GF at the time, her daughter loved them. Made several points getting her backstage and all. :big grin: Bunch of punk kids IMO. Where are they now? LMAO Delivered a new one to Little Feat a year before that, what a cool bunch of guys. Left the venue with about 10 or 12 cases of beer out of their coach. Super nice guys. :big grin:
