So most of you know that I have a Disney trip planned for April 5-10.

We are flying down on the 5th (courtesy of skybus @ $30 round trip) into St. Augustine. We are planning on driving to Daytona Beach that day and staying for one night. We will stay all of Sunday in Daytona but will be driving to Disney Sunday night. Then we're staying 3 days in Disney followed by our last day/night back in St. Augustine so we don't have a long drive the day of our flight.

So, here's what I do know.  My choice on where we stay in the Disney Park depends on how good of a deal we can get on beach front hotels in Daytona and St. Augustine.  If a nice hotel in those areas is going to cost $150, then we'll stay at the "cheap" resorts in Disney (like All-Star Sports, Music).  But, if I can find a nice hotel for about $100 in Daytona/St. Augustine, then we'll book a moderate resort like Caribbean Beach or Coronado Springs.

I'm searching online now, but if you've stayed at one and can give me a heads up, let me know!

Daytona Beach - Acapulco hotel $109.87, including tax - looks to be the best deal for something decent.

Thank Rich - You're busy today aren't you.

We have it narrowed down to the Dayton Tropical Winds Oceanfront Hotel and the Holiday Inn Daytona Beach.  Have you an opinion on either of those?

They both look pretty decent.  I think you'd be okay with either one.

Night life? :roflmao:     :roflmao:

Not much on the nightlife, I'm afraid.  It's a mellow little town without big nightclubs.  Lots of bars (several on the beach), but not like the big cities.

http://www.oldcity.com/night_life.cfm

A restaurant & bar downtown in the historical section of town that is good is:       AIA

Retaurant, with a seperate bar & comedy club which is very popular is:
 Gypsy Cab Company            http://www.gypsycab.com/

Small Irish bar and pub downtown in the historical section of town:    McKnight's

Very popular bar downtown:   Scarlett O'Hara's

Try the Nautilus in Daytona. I don't remember it being all that expensive, but it is very well maintained and spotlessly clean.
