Thanks Becky.  I'm sure we will.

April 5th we fly into Jacksonville and drive to Daytona - my best friend has some friends down there and this guy Jesse is going to chauffeur us around for the next 36 hours - he's a DJ @ this club called Aquarium - too bad I don't drink or I'm sure I would be plastered!

April 7th and 8th are our Disney days.

April 9th we head to St. Augustine for the day and then we fly home @ 2:30 pm on the 10th.

Hopefully Skybus won't change our flights for a 4th time or we will miss our pool tournament that night!

OMG!!! A VIRGIN!!! :lmao1:

My all-time favorite roller coaster is the Rock-n-Rollercoaster at Disney-MGM. I've been known to ride three times in a row. :eyeroll: There's also the Tower of Terror, which is pretty awesome but not a roller coaster; if you're into thrill rides MGM is a big ho-hum. I haven't been to WDW since they opened the new coaster at Animal Kingdom, but it looks like a good ride, too.

ENJOY!!!

It is a pretty cool roller coaster.  We were there in Nov 06 and road Everest.  Going backwards was pretty neat.

mgm is now called "hollywood studios."  rockin' rollercoaster is the best ride there, no doubt.

expedition everest @ animal kingdom is very cool.  if you want to do a buffet breakfast, consider doing donald's breakfastsaurus (or whatever it is) at animal kingdom at a time BEFORE the park opens.  (8:15 or so)

if you have character dining reservations you can get into animal kingsom before it officially opens (you need only give them your confirmation # at the parking gate).

you will be done with breakfast by the time the gates open.  this will allow you to go over to expedition everest and get a fast pass for the ride when no one else is even there.  THEN, you will then be able to get on expedition everest with no line probably 2 or 3 times, at least, and without having to use that fast pass.

then later, as the park is crowded and the lines are longer, go back with the fast pass you collected earlier at the designated time on the pass, and ride it again.  (i like roller coasters.  can ya tell?  lol)

Well you guys are just a wealth of information.  My friend hates roller coasters but did say she would do Space Mountain. Plus, since we're staying at a  Disney resort, we get the bonus hours.

I'm hoping for great weather...warm weather with no rain would be great!

Now that they've got the Rock-n-Rollercoaster, Space Mountain seems like a rinky-dink kids ride. It's just an indoor Wild Mouse, and very rough. The R-n-R is sooooo much smoother, not to mention that it also features several inverted loops. Maybe your friend would enjoy that one more, simply because it's so much smoother and has ~awesome~ music? ;)

Somebody say virgin, lol?

I can hear it now: "rock and roller coaster, bay-bae!"  Definitely not to be missed.  Also, I love Expedition Everest and Primeval whirl at AK, Tower of Terror at MGM (will always be MGM to me, lol), Test Track (love the high speed section), and Mission Space (if you have the stomach), at Epcot .

There are a few strategies for beating the crowds, but I find that the contrarian approach really works.  Like true said, get there early and you can ride the most popular rides repeatedly. Our general approach is get up early and be at the parks when they open, then head back to the hotel in the heat of the day, around 2, to get rested up for later.  We return back around dinner time when a lot of folks are leaving, and stay late.

At AK, we also like to ride the safari, which gets crowded, so we first ride Everest a couple of times until the lines start to build, then grab a fastpass while we head over to the safari ride.  It is usually a walk on at that point, so we can usually ride it twice with no wait.  The bonus is the animals are more active in the early morning.
You may need a week to recover, but it is fun. :-)

Have a great time erby :-)

makin' fun of me, repete? i'll say that every time, lol.  and, you shld tell her to tell the guys what i say at tower of terror too (erby...the elevator operators are supposed to be very stoic.  when you are waiting in line, in the dusty hotel, tell 'em they really outta get someone in there to clean the place up.  make em crack a smile, lol)

now...for the rest of what you said...primeval whirl...uh uh...whiplash city; mission space...i don't go on things that have a death track record, lol...

wld love to tell ya to drink around the world at epcot, starting in london @ the rose and crown pub, and ending in mexico with a margarita or sangria for the fireworks, but you do not do that.  so...other epcot things...hmmmm....the mexico ride SUCKS since they changed it, but you will still enjoy it if you have never been on the old one to compare.  norway boat ride is okay to rest your feet.  food at the cantina is great if you cannot get into mexico to eat.

anything else???hmmmm...repete?

How about The Living Seas? I haven't seen it since it was re-themed, but anything has got to be an improvement; it was getting kinda sad. I've always enjoyed eating at the restaurant there. I also enjoy the dinosaur ride through The Universe of Energy. You can catch a nap for the intro part, wake up for the ride through dino world, then fall back asleep for the last part. (But Ellen Degeneres' commentary is kinda cute.) Wasn't Spaceship Earth supposed to have been refurb'd, too?

Who, me??   Actually, you know I am just as bad, b.  :-)  R & R coaster is one of the best coasters I have ever ridden.  And the pre-ride is guaranteed to get me bopping, much to my kids' embarassment, lol.

Love the T-O-T, and not just for the drop; the effects are very well done, and the cast members really get into the act.  I also have tried to make the cast members smile, but have had no luck to date, unlike true.
World showcase is my absolute favorite.  Even if you don't drink, there are performers representing the different countries, and many places to eat.  Plan on spending at least a day here, since it is quite big and there is so much to see. If you have little ones, they have kid stops in most if not all of the countries where the kids can decorate masks for free (while I sneak away for a quick drink, lol).
I personally like the Restaurant Akershus (sp), but the food there can be described as "unusual".  Things like cold herring salad and goat's cheese are not for the conservative eater.  I like to wash down some cured salmon with an aquavit served in a frozen, icy-cold shot glass.
Speaking of drinking, Magic Kingdom is the only "dry" park of the four, and is my least favorite of the four (coincidence? I think not). :drink:
Oh, I should mention that we always stay at a Disney resort.  Not only are you immersed in the Disney experience, but you can have a few drinks (hic) and let Disney do the driving with their free transportation system.
K, True, when are we going?

okay--erby's gonna be sick of us, but here goes:

epcot:  living seas is nice.  even if you do not have little ones, turtle talk with crush is hilarious!

the BEST...is "soarin"  get that fast pass IMMEDIATELY...you will LOVE it!

the norway restaurant repete refers to: YUCK!  didn't like that food at all, lol.  (you know that already repete, so i trust you will not take offense, lol).

test track is very cool, but the lines are long and fast passes get taken up completely (for the REST of the day), early.  so, get a fast pass quickly.  spaceship earth is cool.  this whole part of the park shuts down BEFORE world showcase, so do this part first.

if you do feel like a glass of wine, i believe the only place you can get one is in italy (definitely) and france (maybe).

hollywood studios (i'll always think of it as MGM too):  beauty and the beast show is very good.  beer stand right across the street (place with the turkey legs), lol.

the extreme stunt show is also very cool to watch, and if you have never been there b/4, do the backlot tour.

newscafe (i think that is the name) has a good cup of coffee (by the beginning of NY -- tucked in the corner).

woody and pals are at al's toybarn, around the corner from pizza planet.

one of my favorite gift shops out of all of the parks is the one by pizza planet in mgm.

you are not staying at a disney hotel, i think, right? well, if you are, print out the extra magic hours calendar i linked in one my posts earlier in this thread.  it will greatly guide you as to where to spend the first part of your day (knowing which ones will be open later for you if you are a resort guest).

as far as when we are going, repete -- next good ding! i guess, lol.

oh!  be on the lookout for the guys giving out the "year of a million dreams fastpasses"

you'll get the front of the line for the most popular attractions.  there is a different set of fastpasses for every park, so look in each park you go to.

in magic kingdom, they gave them out at buzz lightyear's space ranger spin (that's where we got ours); in animal kingdom, they were giving them out by primeval whirl.

excellent.

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/calendar/extraMagicHour?id=CalendarExtraMagicHoursPage&bhcp=1

okay.

AK has am extra magic hours on the 7th; epcot has a.m. extra magic hours on the 8th;

magic kingdom has p.m. extra magic hours on the 7th.

so right there you know, do not waste time crashing the gates of magic kingdom on the 7th.  go elsewhere, as you will have plenty of time there later.  depending on the day it will be open an add'l one to three hours after closing.

find out where you need to go to get your bracelets (you will not be allowed on any rides without the bracelet after hours).  you will need your resort key for every member of your party.

Looks like we are tag-teaming you, lol.

Here are some of my favorite selections from WDW:

Character meal: Chef Mickey at the Contemporary.  Excellent food plus Mickey, Minnie, and more.

Dinner show:  Hoop - dee - doo review.  Kinda pricey, but I made up for it with the unlimited beer and food :-).  This show is a blast.  Get your tickets as soon as you know you are going, as they assign tables in the order of when the reservation was made.

Best beer stop: Black and Tan at the Rose and Crown Pub. The first place I hit at the World Showcase.  (Sometimes, the ONLY place I hit at the World Showcase, lol)

Roller Coaster: Gotta go with Everest for thrills, but R&R is tops for overall experience.

Resort:  I really loved Grand Floridian at Christmas, but it is expensive.  IMO, best for the price is Polynesian (on the monorail), or Caribbean Beach (bus only).

Fireworks:  Illuminations at Epcot.  So many good places to view from, but the bridge near UK is very good.  (No, I am not telling you my favorite spot)

Parade: My favorite used to be the Toy Story parade at MGM, but that has gone away.  Probably now the best one is the Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade at Animal Kingdom.  Hot tip is to skip the parades and take advantage of the shorter lines for the rides while everyone else is watching.

Best cheap lunch: Toluca Legs Turkey Co. as True mentioned, serves beer :-)  and inexpensive (for Disney) turkey legs.  Grab a couple of packs of BBQ sauce for dipping, and get your girlfriend to lick it off your face, lol.

I know I am forgetting a bunch of stuff, but I hope this helps

If only swinging that way worked for me! I'm going with my best friend Victoria and although she's been known to get wild when she drinks, erby only kisses men!

I appreciate your tips. I can't believe how you guys know so much about Disney.

If your friend can remember "when, where, and how" she purchased the tickets, Disney "may" be able to track down the numbers.  For example, she remembers that she bought the tickets at the WDW resort (Port Orleans) on the first day of her trip in April 2004 (4/2/04) and she paid with her Visa cc #xxx."  IF Disney can find the transaction somewhere in their computer system, they may be able to replace her tickets. The more information she has, the more leads the Cast Member has to try to track it down. But keep in mind that this may not always be possible.  If they can't locate the tickets in the computer (in a reasonable amount of time - they are not going to search for hours) based on her information and be SURE that it is hers, then she is out of luck.

A  BIG THANK YOU! Here is an email I received from my friend today:
