The only reason we're spending the $$$ for the Disney cruise is that we've had a Disney Visa for many years -- since the Disney Club was discontinued and the Visa started. I've been saving points for what seems like toooooo looooooong, and that'll pay a hefty chunk of this cruise. After that, I'm switching to a card that offers points than can be used on a wider variety of products and services. I don't like being pinned down like this! :( But I'm sure we'll love our one and only Disney cruise! :proud:

Hey Becky!!  I have that card too!  Except I only use it for the meet and greets at Epcot.  Otherwise it stays at home.  I'm been using the NCL MC right now and an Amazon one before that.  I find they accrue rewards that I can use quicker.

But I'm glad the Disney Visa finally paid off for you!

hey everyone.  we are back.  we stayed at coronado springs (an animal kingdom resort) with our friends and jess (caliber1) and his dw.  very nice resort.  very lively bars (3 of them).  it had a great nightlife b/c it is a convention hotel, so it was filled with at least 3 conevntions that i saw, and they were hopping.

very nice place. but it is HUGE! if you go, do your very best to get a room fairly close to the main bldg with the quick mart gift shops and restaurant else it can be a VERY long walk for the mornin cup o' joe.

ESPN sports club at boardwalk was a BLAST for superbowl.

we had a great time and fantastic weather for february (which is always "hit or miss").

don't forget to pull up the calendar on the disney site and take note of the extra magic hours for your trip.  they come in very, very handy (esp for those hard to get on, popular rides after the park clears out).

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/calendar/extraMagicHour?id=CalendarExtraMagicHoursPage

oh yeah!...and first park, first day, first ride...we each got a "Year of a Million Dreams Fast Pass"  it was AWESOME!!!!

Ok - I'm planning the second half of my WDW trip in August 2008 when my annual passes to WDW have expired.

It's been over 10 years since I wandered off WDW property, so I'm not sure what's out there in the rest of Orlando anymore.

Check out this new Water Park that is built by SeaWorld called Aquatica opening 3/1/08: http://www.aquaticabyseaworld.com/  Sounds awesome.  Best part the price - there is a promo ticket of $79.95 for 7 consecutive days to both Aquatica and SeaWorld.  http://seaworld.com/sitepage.aspx?PageID=196

We were going to do the Disney water parks but I think we will be doing this instead the second week when we no longer have WDW tickets.

Btw, there is also a US/IOA promo ticket price of $85.99 for 2parks/7days going on right now. http://www.universalorlando.com/tickets.html

I know doesn't it look great.  I keep checking it's progress

You will have no problem but I think I will since I found out that they had a setback and the grand opening isn't till April. They may be open in March but not sure if everything will be ready

I was going to reserve a cabana for the day but I better wait and see .

Grace have you ever gone to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach? I think if we went to one it would Typoon geared more for younger kids and older .Blizzard has to many of those really big steep slides:shock:

The cabanas are more expensive than the 7 day pass! :lmao1:

Last time I went to Typhoon Lagoon was when I was in college.  Nope never made it to BB - it wasn't built yet at that time.

IS there a Florida Resident discount on the cabanas?

What leaked or cracked?

Nevermind - I think you meant if Mom bought your tickets, you could then use the money towards the cabana instead. :shoot me:  I'm sloooow tonight.  So, it's off to bed since I have to take Emma to school tomorrow.

Erby, stay at the African themed place!

We didn't stay there but the food there was the best!  Plus you can stick your head out and watch zebras run by!

Come along Becky, the more the merrier.

Bama - I don't know whether to take you seriously or not!

The place is awesome!  We vowed to stay there the next time we go!  Make sure you dine there if nothing else!

Damn, I bet they would go out back and shoot an antalope and serve it to you!  Kinda like choosing a lobster on a grander scale!

If you like your meat a bit more "exotic" try out Artist's Palette at the Wilderness Lodge. We've had some really fine meals there.

i have been to both BB and typhoon lagoon.  i prefer typhoon lagoon b/c there is a man made beach area right by the wave pool where you can get a lounge chair and set up camp.  i think the set up is better than BB, b/c BB involves walking from slide area to slide area.

watch out for that wave pool.  it can get rough.  and, the bottom is gritty to reduce slipping.  i saw a couple of small children who went to far out, wiped out, scraped the bottom, and came out bloody.

Ok guys, give me some advice. I have 4 vacations planned this year so $ is an issue. I am going to Disney in April - flying into Jacksonville/Daytona on 4/5, heading to Disney 4/6 (hotel only), Disney Parks 4/7 &  4/8 , heading to Cocoa Beach 4/9 and back home on 4/10.

My friend that's going with me has a park pass so I am the only one who has to buy a park hopper (I think that's what I need to get).  So, can anyone recommend one of the value resorts or any anything else?

Do you "need" to be on site?  If not, there are tons of property right outside the gates that will be much less.  Although if you do it right sometimes I think you can get a value resort for less than $100 night.

My friend is actually the big Disney buff  - I don't really care. But I think you get special perks if you stay at one of their resorts?  Yes?

Yes, you get extra magic hours.  That lets you in an hour early or up to 3 hours later after the parks close to the general public.  Great way to beat the crowds and lines.

You may like Pleasure Island .Looks like it would be fun if I were single and young again .I would settle for single .Age is just a number:roflmao:

On Sunday the Hilton has  the charater breakfast so I'll put  on my mouse ears and go have some eggs with Mickey:big grin: Thats my excitement :breakfast:

Thanks for the info.I was leaning more towards Typhoon Lagoon .The beach chair is where I'll head.

Still hoping Aquatica will be ready but it says a soft opening on March 1st and the Grand Opening in April .

I would rather wait till next trip when everything is  open.

Have you run across it yet? We'll be @ the park on April 7 and 8th.
