Sheila, they don't have buses in Canada?

The channel islands would be neat, as that is off the beaten track for most of from North America.  You should definitely enjoy the Canaries, if I was a good human being, I would have finished my review, and you would know all about them.  If that becomes your definitive stop, I have unlimited resources for information, as my English friends go 3 to 4 times a year.  They just got back from the Amalfi coast, but Michael has been busy working and hasn't told me much about their 2 weeks there since they got back a few weeks ago.

Called the TA and Princess still has Casablanca as our port, but guess they'll keep it under review. More like the insurance companies for the cruise line will keep it under review....:sleepy:

And JC:nono:  naughty naughty.

I've read so much lately  how everyone hates Casablanca as a port etc etc, that I'm starting to get frustrated with it as a port. I'm not nervous, I really want to see something different, we're not even staying in Casablanca, but heading out. Like WTF can't people get there sheet together and stay the hell out of my way????(does that sound like Gwen Stefani_

JUst incase anyone is reading this thread on this board:shock:... here's an update.

Princess still has Casablanca on . Other cruiselines have pulled in there recently. There has been no further violence (reported) Last phone call to Princess was, "still on itininary, with no planned changes".

Now for the word of mouth reports......;) "don't bother getting off ship", "you will hate it", "poverty and beggars everywhere", "get a guard to take you around, the Moroccans won't leave you alone", "get your arms and legs covered with that blonde hair you're going to have  a problem", "get out of Casablanca"...... Hmmm ...:martini:

Hmmm, it looks like it might take a lot of thought about whether or not to get off the ship IF it's still on the itinerary. Blondes are of great interest to the people of northern Africa and western Asia and have been for centuries. Of course, I would want to see the sights, just as safely as possible.

"Credible information indicates terrorist groups seek to continue attacks against U.S. interests in the Middle East and North Africa. Terrorist actions may include bombings, hijackings, hostage taking, kidnappings, and assassinations. While conventional weapons such as explosive devices are a more immediate threat in many areas, use of non-conventional weapons, including chemical or biological agents, must be considered a possible threat. Terrorists do not distinguish between official and civilian targets. Increased security at official U.S. facilities has led terrorists and their sympathizers to seek softer targets such as public transportation, residential areas, and public areas where people congregate, including restaurants, hotels, clubs, and shopping areas.

Whoo HOo..... I'm gonna dress Pearly Bay up in some long white jellabas (sp), and put my napsack underneath her robe.... heee heee. And then take her shopping in Casab......................

Question of the Day  Eh???How does a terrorist tell an American from a Canadian????

Darn and I just bought a pair....... so as of tonight the excursions are cancelled. I did send off a letter to Princess, but doubtful if I'll ever hear a reply.

Will wait and see if things improve over there, but I'm not optimistic. But I am also satisfied to enjoy the ship another day, rack up a little slot time, spa time, sun, and adding some girth to the growing belly.........

Pearl hired us a nice little limo and driver Hamid. She gets to sit on the ass, and I've got the roof for tanning purposes.

Speaking of Casablanca... I am glad of our decision to cancel the excursions planned for this port. We can always change our minds as we see and feel the actual environment before we commit to something.

The news from that area is difficult to get and not always factual. Since the bombings there have been numerous reports of the problems with the activists regarding the health care, and the Western Sahara issues, then theres the terrorists on trial and all the crap surrounding that (they can't even get the trial started properly, every day it's something new), then there's the constant talk and threat of terrorist cells building and the release of that Moroccan from Guantanamo. Throw in Algiers, poverty, and the fact that the US Consulate still isn't open, and the UN had to close one of their offices the other day....................... thanks, I'll pass.

As for the others on our cruise???? If they continue with their plans I hope that they fair well, and return with tons of stories and pics, but from what I''ve been reading most have also cancelled their excursions. It will be a wait and see approach.

Heck with my luck, the Basque's will decide to move down to a more southerly spot in Spain and bomb in the three different ports I'm in.

Egad woman! I'm relieved to hear that you're being cautious in this area. Wouldn't want anything happening to our favorite sisters!
