thanks for the link Mike. Does that bow look shorter than usual, or is it just the colour or angle that is deceiving?

I think it is a little short for the overall size of the ship but since I don't hang out on the bow its cool with me! LOL

I'm not sure if I like the idea of a big ship or not for X.  I guess there's only one way to find out, and that's try it.  We are booked for next January.  It beats work I guess.

I don't like the huge, mega-ships either, so I hope she's not too big!!   But, from what I've seen, she looks beautiful!!!

What date in Jan are you sailing on?

That's only the front half of the ship I think because the mid-hump doesn't have

much behind it or it is one helluva' optical illusion:confused:

It's the first week of January after New Year's Eve.  The 8th, 9th, or 10th.  I can't remember the exact date and I'm too afraid to wake up the wife to find out for sure.

I'm trying to spark an interest in something with ol Pearly Bay before June 09.
My dog sitting service will be curtailed when DD goes back to work after MAT leave, so need to get a few vacations in prior to that time frame.
I really want to get back to Europe before this time frame

That could be fun.  You are an...interesting...bunch.

My wife decides when and how we travel.  Then I get to do all the planning.  And pick up the tab.  It works.

I guess we'll take that as a compliment.

Hmm, your wife makes all the plans, huh?  Sounds like a good wife.

I do all the planning in my household too:big grin:

SpongeRob who is also on this cruise has a wife who did all the planning

too, if my memory serves me correctly.

So far our roll call is:

Elizabeth Taylor  and husband

Mr. Dawson and his wife,

the Professor and Mary Ann...  [oh, sorry, wrong cruise]

Catnip and her husband,

and Catnip's friend and husband

Lois from CC

the interesting spongerob and wife

LARGIN and wife

Thank God Elbon isn't going anymore -- she was a pseudo MACOP

We are interesting!!! :big grin:    Mike, Dana and I (& our spouses) met last summer in SFO, so we're pretty sure we'll get along good on our cruise!

We're looking forward to meeting Largin and his wife. That way, he can go back and report that we aren't as bad as some think we are over on CruiseCritic!!! :big grin:

I doubt that Spongie will actually be on the cruise. He never talks on the roll-call and I think he just said it to see what our reaction would be.  :shoot me:

Xcruiser----what other Celebrity ships have you sailed on?

Okay, now I'm hooked.  I have no idea what you're talking about, but I guess I'll get the backstory sometime.

Don't women have to do most of the travel planning?  If it were just up to me, fishing and hunting would be my choice.  That's why I don't get a choice, just the job of working out the details.

Yes. She a tiny little thing as I recall. (I met them a few years back at a small weekend get together in the middle of Kansas.) And he is very tall.

XCruiser, I've known some of these "interesting" people for a while. I think you'll all have a good time as you all seem to have a sense of humor. :big grin:

We do around my house! I'm still looking at this cruise, but it doesn't look promising for us. You and my DH would get along well. He loves fishing and hunting!

actually no, I do the travel planning in my house...Gabriele hates researching and I love it..she just tells me to let her know when to request vacation and what to pack (warm or cold weather clothes and how many formal nights to prepare for)   and off we go!

awesome Xcruiser....I hunt a LOT...since I am originally from Oklahoma I go back there but usually go to Texas since there are so many better hunting spots....what are some of your favorites near Fort Worth?

I usually go to west Texas but I would like something close to Dallas so I could combine a Cowboy football game with a hunting  trip!

What do you hunt, Dawson? I have it on good authority that there's lots of good deer and dove hunting in Central Texas. ;) About two hours south of D/FW.
