OMG.. this ship has my name written allllllll over it. This is a piece of work, it reeks of relaxation. Talk about understated elegance... less is way more in this case. I knew X was my favorite./size]

I don't know if you've seen, but that's going to be real grass by the bocce court and patio.

I saw that. I wonder how long it will last.  By bet it will be stadium turf in the future, Salt, 10000s walking on it, weather extremes etc.

No kidding.  Maybe I could get a job on board as landscaper, but I guess that position won't be in the tip pool.

I once tipped a landscaper (in Cuba). I don't know if he was more shocked with the tip or the my really bad Spainish....
I wondered about the kids running thru it, and how much you'll have to pay to use those gorgeous loungers.
That ship is going to be beautiful.
2009 might be a good time for a Caribbean cruise........................

The ship looks stunning. Those loungers look very close to the new outdoor furniture that NCL put on the Pearl and Gem. After all it is being built in the same dock as the Pearl and Gem

Could we tempt you away from NCL for a cruise with us on the Solstice?

Why have I never tried X or NCL? Those look gorgeous! I wish we could plan that far ahead, but we don't know what we'll be dealing with in the next year. *sigh* I read that they will have a groundskeeper for the real grass.

You have to pay for the loungers?

Here is an interesting 5 minute interview with Dan Hanrahan and Richard Fein regarding the Solstice. The 1/2 acre of grass will weigh 50 tons and the water for the grass will weigh another 50 tons. They also talk about the glass blowing feature.

From the commercials it looks like they plan on using it for bocce? And I mean the real grass, not the "grass" grass. :lost:

BTW, have any of you seen the new Solstice commercials? Really looks good!

I have checked this ship out 4x now, and it's getting better looking every damn minute. I've taken the last of the dogs nerve pills ( I really frkn needed it today........ BELIEVE ME), and now I'm thinking I really need this cruise ship, even as fat as I've gotten this last year..................... I'll just buy the tanga in a plus size:confused: Hmmm when does it sail ?? December?? probably all sold out.

Okay, y'all piqued my interest so I went and took a look at the Solstice web site. A real purty ship! :P You can book me in an Aqua suite.

But I've got just one question -- how is this glass blowing thing going to work on a cruise ship??? Have you seen how hot those glass ovens get?!?

I was thinking about the Aqua Class, too, Becky. But not sure I want to spend all that extra $$$.......

Great!  Sheila & Becky will be joining us on 1/11/09!!!!!!!
