I'm trying to get a handle on what's really going on with Azamara. I have seen lots of complaints on Cruise Cheerleaders but they seem to go poof as fast as they are posted.
Is Host Andy employed by Celebrity? He's popping in anytime a complaint or even slightly negative comment gets posted. He must be wearing pompoms and a skirt with the X logo.

That's why I don't like it much over there. You can't get a "real" review, because the one's that aren't 100% wonderful are harranged and harrased by the cheerleaders to where it eventually gets zapped.
It's a shame, because if CC didn't have so many problems with some of their Mods and certain posters that are totally obnoxious, it would be a really informative site!

It seems worse on some boards than others. Azamara had a 3-day cruise on the Quest, fully comped, for TA's, VIP's, and others. I'm guessing that several CC hosts and management were part of that.
I think I'll look at Oceania instead. I'm a fan of the little ships. I wish more people could try them and find out cruising is supposed to be like.

I do like the smaller ships, although I haven't been on a really small one. When I first started cruising back in the early 80's, the ships were smaller then. I sailed on RCCL's Song of Norway and Nordic Prince, which now would be considered to be a small cruise ship.
I hate the thought of being on one of the new behemouth ships----way too many people for my taste. If there was an actual emergency at sea, it would be total bedlam!
NO THANKS!

Love the photo. It takes me back to the days of cone tits. Can I say that here?
We were on Tahitian Princess a few years ago. It seemed like everyone on board was on a first-name basis after a couple of days. The difference is night and day. You feel like a number on the big ships.

I'm considering a TA on Azamara Journey,
any feedback would be appreciated. We have always sailed bigger ships so a TA on a smaller ship could be a shock to us.

| Fil, I'm not familiar with Azamara ships. Do you know the tonnage etc. so we'll have something with which to compare?

Hey Fil, you should ask the TA who booked your Gem cruise about zamara. I know he's not happy with them, but he can give you details.

Even though I prefer the smaller ships, I don't think I've ever been on one quite that small. I think I would like to give it a try, though.
And all of the people I've talked with that sailed on the Renaissance line, really liked it.

We saw both in Bermuda. That Azamara ship needs a paint job, it looked horrible form the outside, but I understand the inside has been totally revamped.

It could be a lifeboat for the Genesis.

Jim, I was looking for some crazy reason a video I took of our 2000 Celebrity Millenium Eastern Med cruise over the weekend and we passed the Ren VI and I filmed it. I remember thinking how tiny it looked compared to the Millenium at the time.

THANKS for the input everyone. I am now totally undecided
16 days of peace and quiet sound great ON CONDITION that the ship has no issues. For the price I do expect a cruise that is up to par or better than NCL. Easy Jim don't it is only a comparative tool.

Great heads up Greg. I'll send the Captain an email to get his opinion.
Merci

Fil, if you go with the cruise on Azamara you'll be the first one from here to do so. Should be very interesting reading! Anyway, let us know what you decide.
