8 weeks from today, we're sailing to Mexico for 8 days!!! :banana:It will be DDs first cruise.  I guess I had better figure out for sure what we are going to do for excursions. I have some ideas, but want to lock them in.

Are you still on the NCL Sun or did you book on another ship?

I'm not sure about this message board stuff.  Never used one.  Sorry if this question is in the wrong place.  I'm trying to settle an argument with my better half.  Do yuo have to have a passport or not?

Our next cruise is Oct. 29th on the Explorer out of Bayonne, NJ to Bermuda for 5 days.  The price was right...we could not pass it up...

Then after that we have booked Alaska on the Summit for June 15, 07 for a 7 day cruise and a 4 day pre cruise land tour.  Everyone we have ever come across that has done Alaska had only good things to say about it.  We will be falling into that new charge of $50.00 each per passenger they are going to start tacking on, but it will still be worth every cent from all the pictures we have seen and the stories we have heard.

Welcome to CTT!

When are you going?  Right now, the official word from the State Department is as of January 8 you will need one.

With that said, many of my industry sources are now indicating that date will be for air only, and for cruises and land crossing, it may not be until June 1, 2009.

The time is definitely coming when you'll need one...so if you're going to be doing any travel out of the U.S., then I'd suggest getting them now.

As Rich answered, depends on when you are going.  As of right now, yes you will need one if your cruise is next year.  If you depart in 2006 you would be fine (except when you are supposed to return in 2007 could effect you).  There is new legislation
that has been approved by Congress and slated to be put before the President for signature, but until he signs it, it will not go into effect.  So if you are on the fence for a late 2006/early 2007 sailing I would get them just in case.  Plus the cost for a passport will only go up in the future and if they start implementing certain electronic coding techniques as they are floating around.
