If they sailed from NYC I would consider it.
QE2 will be going out of Manhattan on the 16th. QM2 will be at Redhook.
Excellent - that is where she belongs
Yeah.........I'm happy we don't have to go to Redhook. On my previous eastbound crossing, we embarked in Manhatten, so I'm glad we're doing that again this time.
Well, if any of you chnage your mind and end up in Manhatten on the 16th, let me know! We get into Newark really early, so will most likely end up at the pier by 10:30!

Anyone going to Montreal, here's Sandytoes telephone number 555-555-5555.
Give her a precall and she'll take you out for dinner and drinks (on her, just to show our Canadian friendliness). See if she can drop you off for a wee bit of great shopping. Oh and a word of advice. Don't buy any of that Canadian souvenir crap.. it's all made in China.
Sure, no problem! Who's up for some good ol' French Canadian food? Poutine avec 2 steamay! We can chase it down with a coupla Molson's or some Eau de Depanneur. Shouldn't cost me more than $10.00 total

In exactly a week, I should be on the Monarch for her last 3 day out of San Pedro before her repo to Florida. We are so sorry to see her go.

Thanks Rich. I've been out most of the day and just saw the question.
Hey Denise, what Rich said.....
I love the Monarch and am sorry to see her go. It is an inexpensive 3 day weekend. We also book lots of clients on her, including many groups. For now, all we will have for the 3-5 dayers is Carnival (Paradise from Long Beach and the Elation from San Diego).

That would make it very convenient for me! Although I've never done such a short cruise! I wonder if it's more of a younger, partying crowd?

My inclination would be to say yes. The HD on the Caribbean Princess told us that when her drydock was cancelled and they instead inserted a bunch of short cruises, it was a disastrous move for the line. They had hoped to be able to introduce a lot of cruisers to Princess that way, but found they really weren't able to deliver the Princess standard on those shorter cruises. And, because of the very different demographic, they probably ended up alienating a lot of previous Princess cruisers. He seemed to indicate that it would be a cold day in hell before Princess would do short cruises again.
Of course, we are talking RCCL here, but perhaps the info is generalizeable?

Most of the short cruises are more of a younger & livlier group. Got to get 7 days of partying crammed into 3-4 days (sounds good to me). It's definitely a different experience than the longer cruises.

We are leaving on October 19 for a Western Caribbean cruise on the Pearl. Second time on this lovely ship! My sister is coming with us for her first cruise - I bet it won't be her last!

Are any of you guys in the NYC area planning to go downtown to watch the sail away?
This is going to be a once in a lifetime experience! I envy you, but I truly hope you have a wonderful time.

How do you like the Mexican Riviera? DH has talked about doing that route for a couple of years now.

Have you been to Bermuda before? I keep reading about how much people enjoy visiting there, but is there enough time and enough to do everything worth doing?

Thanks, Deb. WHile this will be our 3rd crossing on the QE 2, it will be bittersweet because it will be the very last time she will cross the Atlantic. So many years and so many memories......what a wonderful old girl.
Even over on the darkside, I can't find out what all special activities there will be. Guess I'll just have to be surprised.
One night will be a "Black and White" ball, and one night will be a "Nautical Ball". What does one wear to a Nautical Ball?
