I was thinking about this question, and have to say hands down my worst spot is the photography aisle.
You've had that dreaded pic taken getting off the ship, you know the one where you're wrapped your plump body around some staff member dressed as a whale, and you've decided to do something you think is funny and memorable (of course you had second thoughts immediately after doing it). All day you've waited to see "the picture" hanging in the aisle, the same spot that thousands of pax traipse by to and fro dinner.
Once you get dressed and down to dinner you seek it out, only to find they are late getting them up..... and then POW it's before your eyes.... and everyone elses. Hey, its cute, I look pretty good. What a memory.
The throngs of pax pushing and shoving equally as excited to get their first glimpses of themselves on this expensive holiday are really starting to tick you off. You pursue their ignorance as you find another pic, then another. So many faces, some so........ funny. And who's the idiot that keeps putting their pics up front, and moving yours others around. Or the damn kids (adult and child like) who put their dirty fingers right in the center of the photo?
Then there's the pic of oneself that you hate... OMG don't let anyone see that, so you start stacking them behind each other.
Why do I hate this daily evening ritual?? Why do I feel compelled to hurry to that deck to search out the pics? Why do I get sweaty and panicky when I can't find the photo I'm "worried" about? Why do the pax really tick me off at this time? Why is it so confined and claustrophobic in there?
Well the answer is simple. I know each and every time I go thru that deck, that I will be compelled to pay the total rip off cost of each and every picture taken. If I don't, I will get home and say "gee that really was a cute picture of us, I wish I wasn't so cheap". Don't these photography companies know that if they lowered the price, the pax would be less inhibited to pay the price for those precious little bundles of Kodak High Gloss??? And where do they really go once you toss them into that wooden discard box????

I can think of a few but hands down is is waiting in line for the tender. This line lasted almost an hour. The reason is clear when you look at the second picture and see how the tenders did not line up with the platform. It got very ugly with passengers jumping the line from the elevators on the two decks below the end of the line.

Any place there is a line.

I have to admit, since retiring from the air force, I become the ultimate Grumpy Old Man when I have to join a line.   Which isn't all bad as my wife likes to take me by the bar first if we are heading where there may be a line.:big grin:

I hate it when there are no seats left in the Lido/Windjammer Cafe (the buffet lunch restaurant up on the pool deck). You wander around one...two....three times around holding a heavy tray of food and trying to balance a drink on it.

People that sit there after finishing their lunch make me crazy...........there are 20 people looking for tables to eat their lunch, but these idiots are sititng there reading a book!  WTF?   Why can't they go find another chair to read in outside the cafe!!!!!   :finger:

I forgot about that spot.... ticks me off. Esp in am. I enjoy eating outside at a table, but if it's windy, it's equally as irratating.

My worst place aboard ship is the public deck chairs.  They are either full or filled with "stuff" to reserve them. :flamin:

The same goes with the spa.:flamin:

Next time I want to sit and enjoy a "spot", I will pick up the "stuff" and set it aside, then sit down and relax.  When those people show up (probably an hour or more later) I will have finished my time and get up and leave.

What I have to say to all those people....you know who you are.... :biteme:

There aren't any other places to go sit and read....all those spots are piled high with "stuff" to reserve it for when ever those people decide to come use it.:flamin:

Hmmm, I'd have to say all of the above. Plus any venue that is supposed to be adults only that is invaded by children.

The buffet line on the first 2-3 days.   It takes two days to figure out where everything is and how to navigate the area.  It's hard to be patient and wait for people who are "just looking."  I think the staff could do a better job of directing.

Of course not...In the big picture, none of us hate cruising or we wouldn't do it. Just some light hearted chit chat here.

I agree with most of the above, and I also hate muster drill.  Somehow I always end up crammed up against the wall will rows of sweaty people in front of me, and feel like I'm going to smother. . .

I see a Sunshine Cruise snuck onto this thread so I will follow suite.  I don't HATE anything about being on a cruise ship.  However, I don't enjoy being around loud drunk people or screaming children (even if I happened to have given birth to said child)   Also, as a NY'er, I can't stand walking behind slow people and I have to resist the urge to shove them out of the way.

:lmao1:

I agree with you, Jen.  I'm a very fast walker, but when I get behind those who

are just dawdling taking their sweet time it sends me in to a tizzy -- [and I'm not

talking about the elderly or the infirm either just so everyone knows]  I'm referring

more to those who just have no awareness of those around them, or the ones

that will suddenly stop dead in their tracks and 'ya go bumping into them

I have often been compared to New Yorkers,  yet have never been to the great state:lmao1:

My least favorite spot on a cruise ship would be as others have mentioned,

i.e., any line, especially that line for the first pic before you can even GET on board.

They unneccessarily hold up the embarkation line to snap their stupid-arse money

making embarkation photo.  For those who are on their first cruise, I understand

they like that, but come on now, most of us have been through this time and

time again and rarely buy the embarkation photo, especially after umpteem cruises.

It's all about them making more money.  It's not sincere, and that's what irks me the

most.

I can't stand it when people act like they are the only person in the world.   I have made comments, I will admit it here.  I have been known to say "It's ok, just stop right there.  Obviously you are the ONLY PERSON here..."

DH pretends he doesn't know me when that happens.
