Hi all!!!  Just wondering....have any of you ever used the ship's library?  We're on the Pearl in 2 weeks and 3 days and I'd love to peruse  some of their books.  I did buy one paperback but it would be nice to have something ship specific to look at during our sea days (of which we'll have several).

And if you have used the library, what's the process to check out a book?

Thanks!

Ciao,

WaWW :cloudnine::cloudnine::cloudnine::cloudnine::cloudnine::cloudnine::cloudnine:

I haven't been on the Pearl but on the Dream last fall it was simply a matter of signing it out.

I've used many a ships library, and they usually have a good selection, but you have to get there early. Also, if I've brought a book to read and finish it, I usually give it to the library, especially if it's a new one.

Lately, haven't had time to read on a ship...cruisin with too many FOOLS :roflmao:

The Jade had a very well stocked library - much more selection than we found on the Spirit - 6 sea days with rotator cuff problems and reading was mostly what I did. ;)

I've gone to the ship's library only on one cruise. I was able to find a book to keep me occupied when I wanted to read, but ended up never finishing it.

I usually bring 2-3 paperback books. If I finish them before the cruise, I'll get one at the library to finish off the week.

I can't read a book in a week. Very rarely. My attention span needs a little work.

I love going into the library because it's always so peaceful. I see the writing tables and reading chairs and I have never seen anyone in there. Do people really go in there to write?

I've never got a book out of the library because I usually bring a few of my own. My DD's and I did play a board game in there one day when it was raining. And I have seen groups of older people in there visiting some.

Given enough free time, I can read a book in a day -- sometimes more....:roflmao:.  Back to the original subject, however -- does anyone know what the selection is like on the Dawn?  We'll be sailing in a week and a half, and with the new luggage restrictions, I'd rather not be hauling my 5 pounds of reading material along with me.
