Was it good? Did it sound realistic?

It was pretty good. It was about a wealthy woman who was making a transatlantic crossing from the UK to the US. Regan Reiley, a private investigator, was making the trip with her. Someone dies onboard and it's up to Regan to solve the mystery.

Okay then! I added it to my list! Picked up Dance of Death today, the next book in the Preston & Child series. That and a trashy romance novel might hold me until Christmas!

From what I've read of the P&C books so far, they're the kind that once you pick them up they're hard to put down.

I met Carol a few years ago on a QE 2 trans-atlantic crossing. She was very nice....very pretty & really petite!  She gave me her address & phone # in NYC and I called her the next time I ws in NYC.  We chatted on the phone, but couldn't get together because she was at her mom's writing.......I bet it was their first book together!

The only ones you really should read in order are the "Pendergast trilogy"

1)  Brimstone
2) Dance of Death
3)  Book of the Dead

The rest are best if you read them in order, but not totally necessary.  They do have some recurring characters in most of the books.
My 2 favorites was Reliquary and Cabinet of the Curiosities.

I'm a little late on this subject but I read Santa Cruise because it had my two favorite things together...cruising and Christmas.  It was okay, but I was a little disappointed in it.  I liked their others better.  I've read all of their books, individually and together and I enjoy them because they are light and don't take a lot of thought.  Sometimes I need that.  :D  This one is still worth reading, just not worth the money for the hardcover.

I just read the newest John Sanford called Dead Watch.  I love Sanford's "Prey" series so I thought I'd enjoy this also.  Unfortunately, for me, it was a political thriller, which isn't usually my type of read.  However, I must admit it was a very good book and it kept my interest.

Deb, I still haven't read Santa Cruise and it's February! :big grin: Right now I'm ready Dean Koontz's Brother Odd. I read the other Odd Thomas books and this one is taking a loooong time too develop.

About 5 years ago or more I was really into Dean Koontz and Stephen King and then their books kept getting longer and longer and odder and odder until they lost me.  I'll still occasionally read a Dean Koontz though...I have his The Face here to read, but haven't gotten around to it yet.  Did you read that one?

I know that feeling.  Don't you hate it when you buy a book and you start reading it and you realize you read it before?  :D
