I will have to get this one.  Thank You for the tip.

For anybody into the DaVinci Code/historical mystery genre, you might want to also check out A Skeleton in God's Closet by Paul Maier.

From the Publisher
Dr. Jonathan Weber, Harvard professor and biblical scholar, is looking forward to his sabbatical year on an archaeological dig in Israel. But a spectacular find that seems to be an archaeologist's dream-come-true becomes a nightmare that could be the death rattle of Christianity. Meanwhile, Weber's strong interest in Shannon Jennings, daughter of the dig's director, is an exhilarating complication.

Carefully researched and compellingly written, this fast-paced thriller takes you from the dust of an archaeological dig to the laboratories of dedicated scientists to the halls of political and religious power, where world reaction is instant, fierce, and shattering. Moreover, A Skeleton in God's Closet explores the tension between doubt and faith, science and religion, and one man's determination to find the truth - no matter what the cost.

All you Alex Cross fans out there...

I have a question. I just started the series with Along Comes a Spider. Whenever the focus is on Cross, Patterson writes in the first person. Whenever the focus is on another character, the narrative is in the third person. I find this to be jarring! Jumping back and forth pulls me out of the story. Does Patterson write all the Alex Cross novels this way, or can I look forward to regular third-person narrative in future novels?

I just finished reading a couple of books, which I absolutely loved!!

The first was called 'A Complicated Kindness' by Miriam Toews and the second book was called 'The Secret Life of Bees' by Sue Monk Kidd.  This was an awesome book!!!  I think this is now my all time favorite.

The Secret Life of Bees, is based in S. Carolina....1960's.  I don't want to give away too much of the story however.  I was so disappointed when I was done reading it, as I would have liked for it to go on and on.  A young girl is raised by her black nanny after an unfortunate incident.  I found some parts of the book disturbing, when they related to racist episodes, but unfortunately, I guess that was what happened in the South, in the 60's.

A complicated Kindness, is based upon a young mennonite girl growing up.  All the trials & tribulations that are associated with that religion.  This book was very interesting.  They both definately made you think.

Those are good books, aren't they?!? My first was Book of the Dead, but then I went back and read the whole series. There's supposed to be a new one out in August -- can't wait!!!

I was raised in the South during the 60's, so I know what went on first-hand.  I remember a lot of things from those  days that a lot of folks from other countries and even parts of this country might be shocked at.

Yes. I'm trying to find the title right now...Who is your favorite female character from that series?

Oh, gosh, I can't remember! I chewed through all those books last summer, finishing each one in 2-3 days. (Needless to say, I was nearly blind when I was done! :P)

Lincoln Child has a new HB out right now, called Deep Storm.
