I just finished Skeleton Coast and Treasure of Khan both excellent.

If you are a Cussler fan try Riptide or Ice Limit by Douglas Preston both good reads.

I'm a huge Cussler fan!! Finished Skeleton Coast just recently and Treasure of Khan is in my stack of books waiting to be read. I also love the Preston/Child books especially with Agent Pendergast. Read Relic years ago but couldn't remember reading Reliquary so I'm reading it now. Finished several others just recently too including Cabinet of Curiosities, Dance of Death and Book of the Dead.

Ok, I haven't really read any of this thread yet, but just thought I'd throw out my favorite books!  I like long ones-series of books-and a lot of science fiction.  Some favorite ones include: North and South, Lord of the Rings, Thomas Covenent Chronicles, and the Rhapsody series by a relatively new auther named Elizabeth Hayden.  Also love Harry Potter (my daughter read that series to me-it was what got her into being a serious reader!), Gone With The Wind, and the Mists of Avalon.

I rarely order online. The wandering through the bookstore and sometimes making an unexpected discovery is something I just wouldn't want to give up.

I believe this is a sequel to Ice Station,  where the main character Shane "Scarecrow" Schofield was introduced.  Its a good read, recommended to me by a Cussler fan.  Lots of action, suspense and technology. I found it to be pretty consuming.  The Author is Matthew Reilly ...

I haven't read any of Jack's books, but I have his first book somewhere upstairs. I remember talking to him on a Clive Cussler website years ago when he was writing his first book. He seemed very nice and was getting ready to get married soon.

I am reading the new Cussler book right now.

Does anyone read James Patterson?  I'm reading Step on a Crack right now.  I prefer the Alex Cross series, but all of his books are wonderful.

I just finished Janet E's Motor Mouth.  Once again, all of her books are fun, but I prefer the Plum series.  That Ranger is just too hot.  I read the entire numbered series in a row and my hubby was very sorry when it was over because it kept me frisky reading about Ranger!   He still asks when her next book is coming out.

I also recently read John Sandford's Dead Watch.  Having enjoyed his "Prey" series, I thought I would like it.  I was surprised to find it was a political thriller...but it was still a good read, even if not my usual style.

Next up to read is Jeffrey Deaver's The Cold Moon.  Has anyone read that one yet?

Lastly, Deb, I read those trashy time travel novels too!  I love Regency Romances as my brainless escapes and when I can find one combined with time travel, I love it even more.

There's nothing like a time travel trashy romance! Love those things! I finished Brother Odd and started Cussler's Treasure of Khan last night. I have been less than impressed with some of his collaborative efforts, but so far this one has me!

I'm going to have to make a list from all the recommendations here so I'll have something to check out next time I go to the bookstore.
