I've got to start writing these all down, but I had the best damn enjoyment ever.

This massage therapist I see, released the muscles in my back like no one's business. OMG, my back feels so darn good tonight. I swear I must have some type of muscle disease. This is costly  a small fortune, but worth every nickle. I wish they would give a free massage for every 10... or at least a discount to repeaters.  Oh ya back to  books....... I'm going to give the travel books a rest, and open a good fiction tonight......... if i can stay awake..  I am wayyyyyyyyyy tooooooo relaxed!!!!!!!!!!

all travel books.... and i'm getting sick of it. Think I'm gonna open a good cheap mystery.

i like alot of work on my neck too, had that on Sat. Tonight was the lower back from that darn car ride. She finishes off with mid back and neck, but concentrated on the sacrum and glute's. This girl is sooo darn good, she can hit the trigger points instantly, at one point put me into full blown sciatica, but she was able to release it with one finger. My back is a mess, but I think if I had her fix it, then went for maintanence monthly it would be much better. I wonder if having a run before I went tonight had anything to do with extra tight muscles? Guess I should've asked her.

Have you ever had them drain the upper lymphs in your top chest? That hurts, but what a difference afterwards... all round less congestion, bulkyness, tightness??

I have never had that done, but have seen advertisements for "lymphatic drainage", and always wondered what that meant.
What do they do?

true lymph drainage also involves the arms and I think groin area, but this is just when they do the upper boobs (about half way up from the nipple line), up the neck and arm pit areas. It does hurt, but afterwards the tightness and tension is gone, maybe it's because they work the pec muscles too??

If you like true crime books, I have two that might be of interest. Both of these books take place in a neighboring town to me and I know some of the key players in both books.

The first book is The Innocent Man by John Grisham. It is the true story of two men who were accused of a murder they did not commit. They were sentenced to death based on circumstacial evidence. Five days before one was sentenced to die, a federal judge stepped in and ordered a review of the case. Because of DNA evidence, the two men were cleared of the crime....and the star witness at their trials was the one found guilty because his DNA matched that at the crime scene. John Grisham spent a lot of time in this town doing research and even came to my small town to do additional research. This book was compelling and made me thing twice about our justice system.

The next book is The Dreams of Ada by Robert Mayer. This book was originaly released in the 1990's but because it was so similar to John Grisham's book, Grisham had his publishers to reprint this book along with a follow up. This book is also about two men that were convicted of a kidnapping and murder of a convience store clerk.  The two men both came from poor backgrounds and were not well educated and both also had witnesses who confirmed that they were not near the crime scene when the abduction took place. When questioned about the abduction, one of the men told about a dream he had about the woman...and the police took it as a confession. Many people in this small community did not believe these two men did this and many more came forward to the police saying they thought they knew who did it...but their information fell on deaf ears. These two men were convicted on circumstancial evidence.....and for murder even though no body or weapon emerged.

I read this book years ago when it was first released. The District Attorney who tried both cases is also our DA and he is still in that position today....unbelievable! I know many of the key people in this book because my father at one time was a part-time police officer. There are also several ties to my hometown and this case.

Both books make for compelling reading.

Both books are captivating. What is scary is that the DA in both books is our DA here! What a corrupt piece of $*%&.  He sent four innocent men to prison. Wonder what his Karma will be like?:finger:

speaking of books......... i love getting them at Christmas. I'm predictable in what I read / buy, but when someone else buys for you, it forces me to read different. Of course some of them I put aside after the first hundred pages or so, but it often leads me to a refreshing change.

right now reading Pompeii by Robert Harris, it's a great read.

Speaking of Robert Harris, DS has been trying to get a copy of Fatherland, but he hasn't been able to in about 2 years (even from Library). Are you able to order from Publishing companies direct?

Next step is a used book store.

I'm not sure about publishing companies, but I've been able to get some books by ordering through Borders and Barnes & Noble. Found this on Amazon.com:

It's supposed to start raining here and rain through New Year's Eve. Maybe even a little snow before the turn of the year. Chilly, rainy. Sounds like a good excuse to wrap up, grab the brandy and read a good book!

Excellent choices, Deb!!  I think you'll really enjoy Reliquary and THe book of the Dead.
You've read Brimstone & Dance of the Dead, right?  Then, my suggestion is to read the Books of the Dead next, since it is the 3rd in that set, and then Reliquary.
Did you read The Relic?  Reliquary is the sequal to The Relic.  I liked the Reliquary better than The Relic.

I am also reading Brother Odd. Did you read the first 2 books of that series? They are good, so I know Brother Odd will be good, too.

I have not gotten the new Clive Cussler yet, but I want to.

I read Brimstone and have Dance of the Dead waiting. I read Relic years ago but didn't remember reading Reliquary so thought I'd better pick it up too. Yep, read the first two books in the Odd series. :dude:

Ahhh, I see Pearl has Fatherland! Now you know right where to get it.
