That's why I like Bertrice Small's Skye O'Malley series. You can follow the family from her birth to death with sooo many stories about her and her offspring. She also has a couple of other three book series that are good. I'm waiting for the final book in one of them.

I LOVE the Skye O'Malley series! Not only are they soooo darn sexy, but I have truly learned a lot of history about the Elizabethan era and the Ottoman Empire, complete with harem's and pirating. They are really super!
It was because of most of her books featuring the Sultan's and harems and the Ottoman Empire, that I so enjoyed my visit to Istanbul. We went to 2 of the palace's there and it was just like I was in her novels!

Just came back from Davinci C... I liked all the actors for the characters, except for Tom Hanks. It was pretty close to the book, preferred the book. It was really hard to choose seats..... we were the only 2 until 1 minute prior to the actual start, then it filled up to ..... 6

A slow day at the theater?
I almost always like the book better than the movie, but there are some that are very true to the book that I enjoy as well.

Yeah, sometimes Eve annoys me with her snarling and surly attitude. But, then, Roarke makes it all worth it!!!!!!! Are you going to read them in order?

Yes, I try to with books that are "linked" per se. Makes the story flow so much better. I'm glad I started with the first one as I think things would have be a bit confusing otherwise. There was a lot of groundwork laid in that one.
I've found myself really enjoying her Trilogys too as Nora Roberts. The way she keeps all the characters interwoven in all the books is really neat. Makes them harder to put down though.

Has anyone tried any John J. Nance novels? Don't take them on cruises though, you hate to have put them down to go eat, drink, take excursions etc. LOL

| I haven't tried them. What are they like? I love a good read and I know what you mean about hard to put down. If a book doesn't grab me quick, it's a goner.

Nance is the master of the airplane thrillers. But, they aren't really just airplane stories. You won't fall asleep reading them! He is a bestselling author that I just happened upon by accident. I usually take 4 or more books with me on our cruises (14-15 days) and I had picked one up, didn't read it until I had hauled it to ship and hauled it back home. LOL I read the first one then hurried to library for more!

Okay - I started on the next JD Robb book - Glory in Death. Only this time, I got it from the library on tape. Listening to it in the car and the way to and from work. It's different that way. But Roarke is still Roarke.

Well, I finished listening to "Glory in Death". It was good. I picked up the next one, "Immortal in Death" to read and picked up a Janet Evanovich book to listen to, "Full House". It's the first of hers that I've read. I think it's an abridged version though.

If you get a chance, pick up "One for the Money"....it's the firrst of the "Stephanie Plum" series by Janet Evanovich. They are freakin' hysterical!!!!!! I am pretty sure you will like them. Her 12th one "12 Sharp" just came out and I'm reading it now.
She has 2 macho men in her series----Ranger and Joe Morelli. They both sound HOT, but I think I like Ranger more!!!!!! WHEW!!! Is it HOT in here, or what????????

I LOVE these guys!! http://www.prestonchild.com/?fCMS=810e9bbbc53aafb5b063d33e659a9998
I especially like their "Agent Pendergast" novels.........very well written and suspensful. My DH loves them too!!!!! I just got their newest book "Book of the Dead" at the library yesterday & started it last night.
My favorite one is "Reliquary" and then "Cabinet of the Curiosities"...........
Reliquary:
Hidden beneath Manhattan is a warren of tunnels, sewers, and galleries, mostly forgotten by those who walk the streets above. There lies the ultimate secret of the Museum Beast...
When two grotesquely deformed skeletons are found deep in the mud off the Manhattan shoreline, museum curator Margo Green is called in to aid the investigation. Margo must once again team up with police lieutenant D'Agosta and FBI agent Pendergast, as well as the brilliant Dr. Frock, to try and solve the puzzle. The trail soon leads deep underground, where they will face the awakening of a slumbering nightmare.
Cabinet of the Curiosities:
In the 19th century, New Yorkers flocked to collections of strange and grotesque oddities called "cabinets of curiosities." Now, in lower Manhattan, a modern apartment tower is slated to rise on the site of one of the old cabinets. Yet when the excavators break into a basement, they uncover a charnel pit of horror: the remains of thirty-six people murdered and gruesomely dismembered over 130 years ago by an unknown serial killer.
In the aftermath, FBI Special Agent Pendergast and museum archaeologist Nora Kelly embark on an investigation that unearths the faint whisper of a mysterious doctor who once roamed the city, carrying out medical experiments on living human beings. But just as Nora and Pendergast begin to unravel the clues to the century-old killings, a fresh spree of murder and surgical mutilation erupts around them. . . and New York City is awash in terror.
READER COMMENTS:
"I would suggest this novel to anyone wanting an adrenaline rush."
A reader from aol.com
"Child and Preston have done it again. A spectacular sequel to THE RELIC...Crichton and Barker fans beware, these guys could scare even you."
A reader from hotmail.com
"This book is without a doubt the most action-packed, in-your-face novel on the market today. And it is also one of those few that makes you look over your shoulder for something that's not there."
A reader from aol.com
