Just a report back from Europe!

Manpri's are quite popular with European men, as I saw a LOT of them while on my Mediterranean cruise 2 weeks ago.  Saw a few on the ship, but saw a LOT while we were in the different ports and some in the Venice & Frankfurt airports.

I was surprised that Croc's were not worn much over there. I didn't even see many on the cruise ship, although I did see more when I got back to the US at the JFK airport and when I got back to Raleigh.

I just don't get the manpri thing. I think they look fine at the beach but otherwise they strike me as less than masculine.

The only problem with kilts on cruises is their WEIGHT (only a problem if you are flying to/from the port).  A standard kilt will weigh at least 10 pounds then there is the belt with buckle, waistcoat, jacket, socks, sporran and brogues (shoes).  DH and DS had planned to take their kilts on our last cruise but we were close to the weight limit (20 kilos per person) without them.

I'd gladly pay the extra overweight baggage fee to see a man in a kilt - :big grin:

OK, so has anyone on recent cruises seen men in manpri's?  Just curious.
I will report back from my upcoming cruise!

Hi folks!  CTT Newbie here.

I just happened onto this forum by chance but am happy to add this to the other three cruise forums I frequent.

Now then, I'll be sporting manpris AND a formal kilt on my cruise at the end of this month.  And being the fashion forward gent that I am, I'll be committing about 4 other fashion felonies during the trip.  The fashion police are gonna' love me.:P

Afternoon ladies.:big grin:  I thought my post would draw a little attention.  Unlike some of the men on these various boards, I actually try to contribute on the fashion threads.  I'll be 'round - and will prolly surprise you with some things.

Hopefully I'll earn my keep here with sincere and honest interaction.

And, I'll be happy to post up picks just as soon as I get off the ship.

Well here is my vote....this is my wedding picture taken 12 years ago!  I find a kilt very sexy.  The manpris are ok for casual wear but it also depends on the build of the man.  Taller, slimmer men seem to look better in them, kinda like that hunky guy in the manpri picture. :cheering:

Ladies??    Just because I have an ovary doesn't make me a lady. :(

And, as far as the men not being into fashion slam, I'll have you know that I was on the very cutting edge when it came to blue suede penny loafers, button down collared shirts and buckle-back chinos.   I even sported a "flattop with fenders", which was a flat top haircut with ducktails on the sides.....  oh, and I won't even go into my pushing the envelope experiences with pegged pants and mingle chains and the ultra cool act of keeping a pack of cigarettes in my rolled-up sleeves on a short-sleeved shirt.      :big grin:
