Thanks for the article Capn.

With Danielle being diabetic, I was very interested in what they had to say. She loves her croc flip-flops, but I may show this to her and let her see that wearing her other crocs would be even better.

Bumping and hijacking

So, here's an alternative if you dare.  Those of you who like to go barefoot will love these shoes.  They're a little  pricey but if you can get past the aesthetics and can spare a few extra dollars these are worth a try.

They feel like wearing nothing at all and the individually articulated toes do offer superb feedback.  These are great for climbing, water sports, or just kickin' around.  I practically live in mine during the warmer months.  And if ground hazards or "no shoes" restrictions were ever a deterrent, here's you chance to be free and still be legal.

If you're interested you can read more here.

THose  are very strange looking. Kinda like those socks with the individual toes.

I have never tried them, but I don't think I'd like them......

Do you have a pair?

I used to have socks like those! :big grin:

I've never seen shoes like that before. Maybe I just need to get out more. I'd be barefoot all the time if I could get away with it. I'm barefoot now. ;)

Catnip, I have two pair: the one pictured in my bump and a blue pair of the classics.  This is all I wear during the summer unless I'm dressing for an occasion or at work - although I wore the red pair into the office today.:big grin:

And I think Crocs are cool too btw.  Bought a pair of knockoffs last week and found them very comfortable.

I have long been against wearing Crocs because they are so darn ugly but I finally caved recently and bought this pair in the pale pink for our trip to Disney in December.  Figured if I didn't buy them now, I wouldn't find them later.  I too am a barefoot person.  I hate socks so these are a good shoe to wear when a lot of walking is involved.

A year and 1/2 ago, DS then 9 was in the hospital for 9 days following a ruptured appendix.  Getting him up walking every hour was made even more painful by having to get his running shoes on (non-slip).  My in-laws went out one day and bought him a pair of crocs because we had noticed all of the nurses wearing them.  What a life-save that was.  It made getting him walking so much easier.  Now he still wears them to the pool and on vacation instead of flips flops.

My mother has the "knock-off" croc's in about 6 different colors & she loves them!  She gets them from Eckerd's drug store for about $8.00!
I got the Easy Spirit "crocs". They cost a few dollars more than the Croc brand, but they are more comfortable on my narrow feet. I have a hot pink pair for the summer and a taupe pair for the fall & winter!!!!! :big grin:

Yeah, they are not the most attractive shoes, but I really couldn't care less what others think.  At this stage in my life, I gotta wear comfortable shoes!
And I'm sure they don't care that I think some of the stuff they wear makes them look like dumbasses, too!!!!!!!  :lmao1:

LMAO!  I gotta wear comfortable shoes too -- and it's getting harder and harder to find anything that fits that description.

Not to change the subject, but at least my Crocs are removable!  Have any of these kids considered what their multiple tattoos are going to look like when they're 65 and wrinked?  Apologies in advance to any of you who enjoy the tattoo look!

That's what I think about, too.  I have often wanted to get a tiny shamrock tat, but figured it would look like shit in another 20 years, so never had one.

Agreed!  I don't know how anyone can stand the idea of something in their tongue!  I had a 6 weeks training course once -- probably close to 10 years ago -- and one of the guys had tattoos all over and one of those "bar-bell" things through the bridge of his nose.  Very distracting as we tried to concentrate on the class.
